TXST Vs. Southeast Louisiana.
Through 3 quarters, the Bobcats were pretty much in control of this game, and looked to be marching towards a win. The score after 3 quarters:
TXST 38
SE LA 20
an 18 point lead with 15 to play.
In that 4th period we surrendered 24 points (more points in that 4th quarter than SELA had scored in the previous 3 combined), while only scoring 6. At the end of regulation, we're tied 44 all.
SELA wins in OT 51-50.
From the end of qrt. 3, we surrendered 31 points, while only scoring 12. The crowd at Bobcat stadium was stunned, it was a surreal kick in the gut. I still get nauseous when this one crosses my mind.
I was at this game too.
I think you have it wrong though. I'm pretty sure we were up 24 in the 4th quarter before they scored 24 unanswered on 3 TDs and 3 2-point conversions.
Then when it went to OT and they scored first we responded quickly with a TD to make it 51-50 but missed the XP....
Edit: I also think the 6 we scored in the 4th quarter before they rattled off 24 straight were from a TD and missed XP also, not 2 FGs.

That was a great game to watch. Game sold out within hours of tickets going on sale. I actually bought my ticket, as a student, from a scalper as I didn't get a ticket in time before they sold out. Still the one and only time I've ever seen scalpers outside a TXST game. Student section was on their feet from start to finish.
Great back and forth game with plenty of offense that ended in OT. That was a fantastic football game.
I get your point, it was one of the most difficult TXST losses I've ever endured. But I think the question in this thread is what are the worst/most boring football games you've ever been to.
I remember watching that game, as I was curious as to whom we might play should we beat Furman the next day. The memory I still have is a shot of the exasperated student with his arms held up in a WTF pose as time ran down.

So...not our place kicker cussing a blue streak on the sidelines?

Unfortunately, no. But I also remember thinking y’all would be a tougher matchup for us, and as it turns out with Richie being injured the next day, we might not have been able to stay close enough for him to make a difference when he got in.

I'd imagine there are a few App fans that would say "The Game That Never Happened" was the game, but if they chose that one, they'd have to admit that it happened, so they will not chose that one. I was not there, but how could I have been since it didn't happen?

My lowest game was watching Liberty come into Boone and beat us in OT in 2014, that was a tough year.

Citadel 2012 was like watching a horror movie. We completely forgot how to stop the wishbone. And this was in Boone, where Citadel hadn't won in a long time. It was 31-0, 45-7 and 52-14 at certain points. The silver lining is that we used that experience to help us win in Statesboro that year.

This and that loss to A&T when folks were still very upset about Coach Moore's strange departure.

One of GaStates first few years of playing, they played Jax State. I originally went to watch Jax State’s band, bc GaState had been having a rough go of it to that point, but oh boy...the errors in that game were brutal, including a GaState QB fumbled snap near the end of the game. I’ve seen GaSouthern do this also against NCState, but that game didn’t have the same amount of errors (on GaSoutherns side at least) until that one fatal error.

Ha. You've been on edge lately man.
Getting into it with everybody.
Wasn't out to correct what you wrote, just posted initially to pile on to your post to point out how bad of a loss that was. It's ok that you didn't remember the minute details of a game that happened a decade ago. Nothing to get worked up about.

RE: Discussion Thursday: Worst Game You Watched In Person
I will go a different route than most on here. The worst game I ever attended was senior year in '98, I believe it was against The Citadel. My cousin from Ohio came down to stay with my folks and do a few college visits in NC. My folks brought her up to Boone to do a tour with my brother (both HS seniors at the time) and we went Saturday to the game. It was ok in the morning but at kickoff it started to pour rain and it did so all day. Everyone had paid for tickets and hoped it would stop any minute so we tried to wait it out, but it never let up. That was the wettest I have been. My boxers were like I had been swimming even with three layers. And it was a cold rain at that. I was sick for a week afterwards.

RE: Discussion Thursday: Worst Game You Watched In Person
In 27 years of Cajun football there are a couple that come to mind.
2001: UCF 31 Louisiana 0. Jerry Baldwin's last game as Cajuns' coach. They quit. And, it was obvious.
1997: Washington State 77 Cajuns 7. Ryan Leaf was good.
2005: Arkansas State 39, Cajuns 36. Cajuns blew a 15 point fourth quarter lead, and the loss cost the Cajuns a trip to the New Orleans Bowl (which was played at Cajun Field because of Katrina.)
There are many, many others. But those come to mind first.
