RE: Idea concerning the Army/Navy game
My idea is a simple one. Move the Army/Navy game to Veterans Day, which always is November 11th. No matter the day of the week, it can be played and be the featured game that day. Whenever it lands on Saturday, simply move the game to Friday night or maybe Sunday. It wouldn't be difficult to build in a BYE week before or after Veterans Day in order to accommodate the game being in the middle of the week as is done now for mid-week games. I simply don't see why this isn't a more obvious solution for people. It is the main college football even for celebrating our military and veterans, what better than to do that on Veterans Day. It doesn't need to be in December just because it historically has. With all of this said, I feel Veterans Day is the only day that it belongs on as it simply would be lost in the shuffle on Thanksgiving/rivalry week, Week 0, anything. The game can still be played as a conference game and potentially have additional meaning to the game as it could directly impact conference standings so late in the season.
