You allowed 5.5 ypc against Georgia State and 5.23 ypc against Coastal.

I'd be shocked if we throw more than 8 passes all game.

No one forces Georgia Southern to pass. They'll run, and if you stop them, they'll just run it some more.

Our passing game is mostly just our runs that go for big yardage.

Werts was 1-3 for 19 yards and a TD against App. They don't pass much, but when they do, there is a 33% chance of it going the distance.

19 yards? Might want to check that again.

On the season its 58% that is going for 10.69.

When we pass... we mean it.

Yea...pretty sure that was a 57 yard bomb that he threw for a TD...

To me this is a big test for our staff's ability to keep these kids focused.

With all the talk of this being a trap game.... do we not think the players think that as well? Granted, it looks to be a close game based off historic trends, but the win last week was just another check..... the goal isn't to beat App.... It is to win the Sun Belt... we come in expecting a dog fight and that is exactly what ULM will get.

Oh, it's a trap game all right. Because it doesn't matter how much the coaches talk about it and tell the players to focus. Players talk. And fans talk to players. GS might be good enough to overcome it, but it's silly to think players say "hey this is a trap game."

luckily, even if we lose to ULM, we still control our own destiny in the east. Lose to them, and beat Troy, and we still would be in 1st in the east with tiebreakers over you guys and app.

I'd rather than not happen though.

This is true. As long as we beat Troy and lose no more than one conference game we will control our own destiny. Troy has it a bit harder since they have to beat both us and App and lose no more than one other conference game.

In the option the pass is a trick play.

The run plays are the cheese that attracts the mice to get in close, and the pass play is the trap that snaps shut when all the mice are focused on the cheese.

They had 1 completion for like 59 yards and a TD against us, so yeah, when they pass, good things tend to happen.

My bad, I pulled 19 from the Yards Per Pass inadvertently. Still, the gist of the original message hasn't changed.

Right now 1 out of every 6 completions for Werts is a TD pass.

RE: Georgia Southern @ ULM Game Thread
I was just saying I like our chances better against a running team. I would throw against us more than usual as we are bad against the pass. Worse against pass than rush. We do have a good pass rush though. Coastal runs something similar and we held them enough to win. Again, I’m telling y’all it depends which Evans we get.

They do NOT run anything that is like ours. Just because they have a pitch play, does not mean they are similar.
