RE: Southern Miss at App State
It looks like the Belt needs to get serious about new contract terms. If anyone wants to delay a return game in the future, I suggest, sure, but youll need to sign an agreement that specifies that any cancellation of a rescheduled game shall be at the sole discretion of the home team and serious penalties for non perdormance.

We both have openings in 2023 and beyond. Lets see if the game gets rescheduled to any future seasons. If not, then we likely have our answer.

That's why it is SO important to hold these teams accountable (as we are trying to do in court) for the payout or the game.

I don't believe for a second that Southern Miss would be petty enough to duck App State. Difference between this game and the Miami game, is that Miami had been trying for years to get out of coming to Jonesboro. The hurricane just provided a convenient out for them. Southern Miss likely thought they had a fair chance of winning that game until recently.

Looks like per the contract, it will get rescheduled for a future date.

Thanks, I hadn't read that article. I've been looking forward to USM coming to Boone since it was first announced. At that time that was the most high profile team to agree to come to Boone. Too bad its now been postponed twice.

Could ECU and App schedule a last second game since both teams had games cancelled?

“shall be rescheduled at the earliest date available to both parties.” - Per the article, this is in the contract.

The earliest date available is this season.

1. ECU fans would meltdown if they went to Boone this year.

2. They would jump off bridges if they got beat down.

I've seen where both coaches stated they don't want to play on our open date because of conference play. Southern Miss coach mentioned possibly at end of season. I'll go out on a limb and say we won't be playing in our CCG and will want to play App St.

I’m hoping we’ll be busy that weekend.

You don't really have an available date this season. You'd have to get ESPN and the SBC to agree to move the AState game back first. The other option is the first week in December, and while USM doesn't look busy that weekend, I have half an idea that App would probably rather have a prior commitment that weekend.

Pretty much. Only difference I would say is my outdoor lights that are triggered by the dark are on at 2:58. I saw some blue hairs playing golf around 11:30. Course was only flooded in the bunkers.

Old folks generally keep it on the fairway, anyway.

Word is beginning to leak out USM refused at least two, some are saying three, different opportunities to pay the game. One was to play in Chattanooga (about a 6 hour ride from Hattiesburg) who was on the road at UT Martin.

Sounds like a forfeit to me.

The more I hear about how USM worked all scenarios and excuses to not play this game the more I am disgusted. I understand the situation and circumstances but when offered multiple options to get it done including relocating the contest.....
