Who plays in the inagural SBC Football Championship game?
If you think Coastal or Texas State will win their divisions, don't vote but indicate so in a post.

Probably could have left ULL and GS off the choices as well.

Coastal in the East vs a team not in the East.

Might have been simpler to do separate polls for who wins the west and who wins the east. I mean I know we suck and don't necessarily deserve to be considered but same goes for GS.

The difference is GS made changes this off season

Oh that's true. Guess y'all are a lock for the ship now.
For real though. I could see y'all in it if Troy and App regress and y'all keep up the momentum y'all built at the end of the season.

There's a maximum of 16 options in the poll, so I chose what I saw as the 16 most likely matchups, which corresponds to what would most likely be the consensus top 4 teams in each division.
And no offense to Texas State, but we've already won a SBC championship and maybe the top bowl tied into the conference and we had a head coach that returned pretty much every skill position player that lead the the country in rushing yards two years in a row and produced trash offensive stats. We've earned the benefit of the doubt.
And people say our fans are sensitive.

You have the right to post a homerish poll and have your homerish fans vote for it. Fans of other schools have the right to call you on it.

Troy's will defense will be phenomenal and carry the team early in the season. But honestly, you just can't a price on Silvers and Chunn. They are going to be really tough to replace. That's why I voted for APP vs ASTATE.

There's 25 possible matchups for the SBCCG, and about two-thirds of them are poll options. You don't find the poll homerish. What you find homerish is that some of our fans aren't going to pretend like we think the last two seasons were anything other than awful coaching.
"Homerish" implies a lack of objectivity, but I can promise you isn't the case and we have reasons to think that. We've been where we are before. We've had a first-year coach take a team coming off a 4-7 season go 10-3, we've had a first-year coach come off a 3-8 season go 7-4, and a third coach go from 5-6 to 10-5.
I mean, we are past the point now where we think the slate of what you've done for decades somehow magically gets wiped clean because we're FBS now, right?

The Homer pick for me was GS vs stAte. If you guys are going to force me to be realistic I'll go with Troy vs stAte!

Throw out the name of the program. Picking a team in May that went 2-10 in the previous year to play for a conference title is not being objective.
Thanks to GPC for owning it, nothing wrong with believing in your team.

You messed up when you said "throw out the name of the program" as if that doesn't matter. I already pointed out how we have bounced back very quickly from slumps that were longer than the one we had. It's just the principle of upward regression to the mean.
I can't give you a good reason why we should be the favorites of the division, but of course that's not what you said was homerish. You said the poll was homerish.

On paper Troy at App on the final weekend looks like the biggest game. App could lose at AState and still control their own destiny and App could win at AState and the Red Wolves still control their own destiny.

Including a 2-10 team (and no it doesn't matter the name of the team) in a championship game poll is homerism, and picking them is even more homerish.
You can't give a good reason why GS should be the favorite, dude it's cool you have faith in your team, we all do, but clearly you're a homer, own it.
Your mean since 2000 isn't a championship game.

I gave you multiple reasons why I think the team can bounce back quickly and you're just giving me "you're wrong", so there's not much I can do there. It's one thing to have a coach that destroyed a roster and you need 2 or 3 years to even get back to normal, but that hasn't happened in any other downturn and won't happen in this one, either.
Maybe when the law of averages catches up with App and you have to actually start making hires more than once every 3 decades you will see the same thing.
I'm not saying we should be favorites in the East, just that if we're taking the top 16 most probable CCG's then we're in them. What's the magic number where where you don't need to include any more options because you're scraping too far down the barrel, anyways?

How about 2014 and 2015 where we were a cumulative 14-2 in conference?
