They return pretty much everyone on offense and they have an exciting, dynamic young quarterback. They do need to rebuild their defensive front 7, but still...they will be dangerous with Solich still at the helm.

I agree. Ohio should be good again. Their QB is a baller. Exciting kid to watch.

I have WMU losses as Cuse, Michigan, Toledo and Ohio

Who's playing QB at Toledo? They lose a NFL prospect QB and many still have them as MAC West to beat. I'm not so sure.

Apparently these two guys are battling for the starting job:

Junior Mitchell Guadagni - offers from Toledo, Akron, Buffalo, Kent State and James Madison
Sophomore Eli Peters - offers from Toledo, Temple and Illinois. Originally committed to Illinois and transferred to Toledo

The rest of their QBs:

Redshirt Freshman Caleb Martin - offer from Toledo
True Freshman Cross Wilkinson - offers from Toledo, Ball State, Georgia State, Marshall, Ohio, Western Kentucky and a handful of Ivy teams
True Freshman Carter Bradley (Elite 11 finalist) - offers from Toledo, UCONN, ECU, FIU, FAU, Georgia State, Hawaii, Indiana, Louisville, Marshall, Ole Miss, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, USF, WVU, Wisconsin, and Wyoming

This program will NOT lose to Central Michigan. Last year's game was a fluke give-away that won't happen again.

At Georgia State Week 4 is concerning - reminiscent of playing at Georgia Southern in '15.

After what we witnessed last year, I don't think you can say any game is a guarantee besides Delaware State.

This schedule is going to be a little tougher than I think most people realize or want to admit.

I wouldn’t be surprised with another 6 win effort... I don’t see much that makes me think we have turned a corner. Losing guys like Phillips, Brown and Clark on defense makes me apprehensive about predicting much success when we still haven’t seen what the offense is capable of... last year didn’t give me much confidence on either side of the ball....

I agree, the only reason I think this team could be dangerous is that Lester has had a full year to develop Wassink now, and we return our entire receiving core.

0 wins. The entire team will be dead, and their corpses stacked like cordwood in the Brown & Gold room as a fuel source for the Bernhard Center if power fails in the coming apocalypse.

Coach Lester will be forced to indenture himself to Coach Bono, wearing a tux and throwing a football at anyone attempting to foil Bono’s evil plot to steal the valuable national championship trophy from the vault on UAB’s campus.

14-0. Undefeated and win our bowl game. Lester calls William Pease and brings him back to help the BMB perform in the victory parade at the end of the year, literally bringing the band back together in the process, smiling the whole time.

Last years game was not a fluke. Our team basically gave up and played with zero emotion in the 2nd half. We got just as many lucky (flukey) plays as they did.

If we had our #1 QB in that game we would have won walking away. Too many errors from the backup and stagnant offense when we lost the run game.

Tough to win in CFB when you go 6-18 for 42 yards passing. CMU pretty much disregarded that phase of our offense in 2nd Half.

Oh please!

The game would have been iced had it not been for an unforced, and fluky, fumble inside the CMU 5-yard-line. Combine that with Franklin's unforced and fluky fumble in the 4th Q, and some dropped passes by wide-open receivers, in addition to some WTF play calls in the 4th Q, and, yes, it was a give-away.

WMU will NOT lose to to a cheap & dirty Central Michigan program two consecutive years. If it does, there are serious-serious issues with this coaching staff.

Gotta beat your rival for survival!

RE: 2018-19 Predictions
Time to admit we played half of last season with D2 talent QB who was forced into play. Nothing against him but even Lester admitted three weeks ago he was gun shy and worried about getting hit. This spring he lost all confidence. Wassink will be much improved and so will WR's. Harris the UM transfer, and the kid from Knoxville who was headed to Tennessee will get playing time. I think Harris got pushed to the back after early injuries sidelined him, he should shine in MAC play.

No reason this team can't win 8-9 games this year, that being said, I think 7 wins is realistic, 6 wins worse case scenario. I think we lose to UM, Ohio, Toledo, and Syraucse is a 50/50 game. Rewatching that CMU game from last year, Goddard missed countless wide open throws that would have resulted in first downs. If the offense doesn't click this year, it will be a long season.

RE: 2018-19 Predictions
Am I the only one who remembers our “D2 talent QB” held a 28-14 lead well into the fourth quarter?

Not sure why it’s his fault we lost that game...

That game wasn’t a fluke. If anything, it epitomized our season.
