Tubby had to go after the statements he made through his lawyer. I take no pleasure in it and I wish it could have turned out differently.

It is an anxious time for the staff and their families and I hope they find employment soon.

Not sure why Rudd had the meeting in his office when he knew there would be cameras everywhere. Could have easily had the meeting in a discreet location ... better than a hot dog stand I guess, but still not good IMO.

ITA. I don't take great pleasure of anyone being fired but he was not the right fit for Memphis at all. It does anger me that we gave him so much money in his contract. That was really dumb IMO. I will say if Penny gets the job, I really hope it works out. One because I love the Tigers and two because he is a beloved member of the community. I don't want people to turn on him. He is a nice guy. I was in 7th grade band class with him and the moved away that year. Then I went to Bolton where we played against him in the AA State tournament and beat him for the title in 1989. He had killed us in 2 previous games that school year and I remember telling my mom, "Wouldn't it be so cool if we play Treadwell in the state game and finally beat them?" Wish came true. I will say he was SO fun to watch during my college years and being on my team.
