WMU/BSU
I have no idea why we keep running this offense... Dugan and Lamont give no threat of shooting a 3 and we never use them off the high roll... wtf!?

I have no idea why Hawk thinks this team can play man-to-man defense...especially on out of bounds plays under the basket we are defending. We've given up so many easy buckets on out of bounds plays this year it's ridiculous.

I have no idea why the Broncos are leading the game with 9 minutes to play when according to most fans here everything the team does is the wrong thing.

Said it all year...Flowers should have been playing more than Randall. Kid's got some swag.

He definitely does but I hear there has been some non-game issues that Coach Hawkins has been trying to get in check.

Wow, Broncos upset BSU 87-80. Looks like a tight contest down in Muncie, but we prevailed. Removes some of the bad taste from the Ice Hockey blowout.

Very nice win! Hawk kept shuffling through lineup combinations until he found one that was working. Nice to see him dialed in on that.

Great win against a team that had been red hot. Brandon Johnson barely played, Wilder wasn't making shots from the field and yet they found a way. Halfway through the second half they had a lineup of Flowers, Jones, Whitens, Dugan and Lamont and those guys were working hard and caught and passed Ball State.

I like the Whitens kid. He had a big rebound to end the OT againsts the chumps.

Important win.
At times caught digging a their own grave. But WMU showed a stiff back bone turning it around. In the end it was BSU who was the stiff and took the dirt nap.
It will be important to see how those who stepped up that have been on milk cartons respond to success. Jones and Flowers in particular.
It's business. Deal done. Hand shake and smlle. Now on to the next game.

Considering that Dugan doesn’t practice, Jones and Flowers have clearly been in the doghouse, all three really showed up.
As for Whitens, the one thing I like about him is I don’t worry that he’s going to make freshmen mistakes. Seems steady. Always seems to get boards, makes the right pass, and knocks down a shot when open.
Really important win. Can seal a bye with a Tuesday win.

Whiten seems to have the luxury of being able to play without worrying about accumulating fouls. Also, he seems to really know his role

A Tuesday win over Eastern won't exactly guarantee the 4th place spot. A win Tuesday would eliminate both Eastern and Miami from contention. Miami might eliminate themselves today. That leaves both Kent and BG, who have tie-breakers over us, as the problem. They play each other today, which will eliminate one of them. The problem is if the winner of today's game wins-out, we would also have to win-out. IMO we should hope for a BG win today. They have the hardest remaining schedule (@Ohio and Buffalo at home). Of course if we win-out and BS loses one of their games we would have the 3rd place spot. Which means we wouldn't run into Buffalo until the finals, assuming they hang-on to #1.

And CMU would like nothing better than to dash our hopes when we come to Mt. Pee.

RE: WMU/BSU
ESPN picks us to lose Saturday and to win Tuesday. I’m far more worried about Emu. We always struggle with the zone, pretty much down a player, and Thompso’s a monster.
CMU is a system team. We took away the three and traded twos. Two things need to change. We were missing tons of clean looks, and we got to the line less than they did, which is odd considering their offense runs 25 feet from the basket.
Defend the arch, trade twos, hit those wide open threes. Jones, Davis, and Wilder went a combined 3-17 from three, mostly clean looks. Go 6-17, get to the line more, and you win by ten.
We get an extra day to prepare for Murphy’s zone. They just beat NIU by 30. I think this is the tougher of the two. Hope Murph and his headcases have their usual mental breakdown.

If WMU wins out and Ball State drops a game, WMU moves into the #3 spot.
