Each school had a vote, and the overwhelming majority chose The Star over proposal's from UTEP and UAB.

Don't ***** at UAB and UTEP..... Complain to your own AD.

Doesn't bother me. Tip it up and let's go.

I remember reading there would be a curtain. But I could be mistaken.

I remember it being reported that a wall will be erected between the two courts, not just a curtain. Also, the two courts are only needed on the first day.

Then why not hold the womens first day at another nearby location or--let them play at the same building---but have the womens first round the day before the men start? I suspect the next time they do it in that facility they do it differently.

Why worry about it so much? Who's to say it won't work out? We haven't even tried this yet.

So much for the theory of men being on one court and women on the other.

It makes sense though. If one game runs over there’s less of a delay for the next game. The teams can be warming up on the other court.

Read it again, you will feel worse.
Unless you meant two of YOUR school’s games going on at the same time, in which case they fixed that issue from recent years.
I do like the idea of overlapping games on two courts. I’ll watch my team, but this way I’m more likely to be in the house for ALL the games. Like must-see-TV if one game’s a dud there’s another on that’s better

Maybe maybe not...what if they have ushers keeping you from switching sides. Of course a all session pass will fix that

With mens games playing basically at the same time on court A & B.....

very good chance only one game will be on TV/Streamed

lol...What does "work out" mean? Of course it will "work out" in that nobody will die and the games will get played. The idea is to do a bang up job and create something that builds a solid return following. You do that sweating the little stuff like having good seats, proper help, good facilities, well manned concessions, etc.

Im actually kinda interested in how it works and what people think of the experience because the AAC is going to be there in a few years (though Im not sure we are using the exact same venue). I think we are slated to be in a dedicated basketball arena in Frisco. Our women BB tournament will always be in the NE near UConn--so need to put both in the same location (I admit, they care alot more about womens basketball in the NE so Im fine with it being always up there).

Will the courts be elevated? They should for stadium ball. I actually think this could be a great venue. It's got character and don't underestimate the ability to check out multiple games by just walking around. And the top programs travel well and latech and NT have fans in dfw so it should be PACKED.

Whatever verbiage you use is fine. I'm not going to waste time on semantics. The reason the venue, location, and format was changed is because the last two CUSA basketball tournaments did absolutely nothing to excite fans. No one attended. It couldn't be worse. Will it be great now? I don't know. At this point I'm just glad that the conference is testing something different, because the old way hasn't worked. Frisco is a very nice city and The Star is an incredible venue. I don't expect them to cut corners or do anything cheaply. Don't be surprised if it's a success.

FWIW--I think having both at one location is a good idea. Im only echoing the thoughts of other posters who questioned the orientation of the court. No reason that the majority of seats couldnt be along its length as opposed to behind the goals.

Agree, but they must have their reasons for setting it up the way they have

at the rate the season is going La tech may not even make it.

also, you are joking right? 5 of the top 6 teams in the conference are a minimum of 10 hrs away. I'm not going to be flying out to frisco texas in the middle of march.

clt says let’s have the teams rotate at halftime.

First half- team 1 mbb vs team 2 wbb
First half- team 1 wbb vs team 2 mbb

Then rotate at halftime.

Just play the dang first two rounds at higher seeds home court, play final 4 at neutral site location. We aren’t a world beaters conference, so let’s stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Do what makes the conference the most money, and Frisco TX in an IPF isn’t it.

at the rate the season is going La tech may not even make it.

also, you are joking right? 5 of the top 6 teams in the conference are a minimum of 10 hrs away. I'm not going to be flying out to frisco texas in the middle of march.

Never would've expected that either. I took that week off of work months ago. Sure hope we make it. Our baseball team is playing a tournament in Frisco with Cal, Baylor, and A&M the weekend before.
