Not saying that there are no good football players in Indiana, but why are we recruiting that State this hard? Is this the result of the budget cutbacks that President Smith talked about? Meaning we can't go on long recruiting trips.
We still take long expensive recruiting trips (we recruit California hard, at least JUCOs).
As far as IN, there is only one MAC school, BSU, in that state.
In MI, there are 3 plus Toledo and BG next door.
And as far as Ohio is concerned there are SIX MAC schools, Cincy, plus Youngstown State.
Ohio has good h.s. talent but the competition is intense.

It might be, but it's still way early in the 2019 game. All MAC schools recruit hard regionally. In 2018, 15/21 of WMU recruits came from Midwest, 16/25 for Toledo. Given that our recruiting classes have gotten better over the CC years and actually have produced on the field... I'm not going to doubt CC and staff tactics.
One thing to keep in mind, yes, recruiting regionally is a good thing. Some kids want to stay close to home and Indiana is (obviously) close to MI.
And, keep in mind there is only ONE MAC team in IN.
So if a Indiana H.S. player, of MAC abilities, doesn't want to play for BSU, there are other options and EMU would like to be one.
Jason Beck and Shaq Vann are from Indiana so hey whatever cool.
Speaking of Vann , why is EMU not recruiting any RB? Are we really that comfortable with those behind, Eriksen,Vann and Banham?

Dear alum93,
I think we are okay with Holloman, Parker, Turner, Bell, and Horne. Parker and Turner have played briefly, and in my opinion, looked good. I think Holloman was a transfer and had sit out last year, and Bell and Horne were freshmen. Time will tell, but I think we will be alright with our running backs.

And, I assume, Mackay.

Great listing to date. Will '79 keep the top posts up to date with this volume of data?
As it is now, there is so much raw data that it is hard to digest.
I like '79's setting up individual posts for individual positions so the data can be organized in a meaningful way.

Steve, traditionally I have followed recruiting as many of you who follow these pages know. However it appears that role has been supplanted which is fine by me, I will update the front end when I have time to do it. I still follow basketball recruiting. May I suggest that someone very CLOSE to the program has been put in charge of posting this recruiting information. I have my thoughts on who that might be. As long as they are not publicly commenting (whatever that means) they are probably fine. The main goal is to get this information out to the fans apparently in mass form. This follows other developments like not have a signing day event. And whatever changes they make to the season ticket packages which I predict may upset a few people. Recruiting to me involves the fan more personally in the program and investing in it than having a staff member post the information. I'm getting older and want more time to attend to our new 5 month old standard puppy and to my wife's health needs so probably what is occurring on this thread is probably going to save me time to do more of that. I appreciate your comment though Steve.

Thanks my wife has PTSD, a back problem, one surgically operated rotor cuff with another rooter cuff. Nothing wrong with slowing down a bit and smelling the roses while you can.

He holds 16 offers and are now #17. Some offers are B1G.
His parents are EMU graduates.
This one will be interesting.
