For decades nobody was tuning into Rutgers games. They had a couple good years under Schiano...then crap in the AAC. Then they and Maryland (another crap FB team) get picked up for a market saturated with Big 10 alumni.
What conference is Houston in???? oh that's right, a G5 or something like that....Not good enough for the big boys, even the B12 didn't want you (and they are in bad shape)......enjoy G5 purgatory
Houston has been in serious conversations about NY6 and playoffs several times over the last few years. Has Rutgers?
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride....All your serious conversation, and you're still sitting in the AAC. But seriously, Rutgers is in your heads, let us go, we certainly have let you all go.....
Rutgers has no business in the B1G and you know it. You spent two decades in the Big East in fertile recruiting grounds next to NYC and Philadelphia and came up blank. When you started winning in football it was because of dumbed down scheduling and one giant upset, granted Schiano was a really good coach.
So don't expect us to be in awe of Rutgers when it's obvious they earned nothing. Unlike you, Houston earned its way in the club but fell out when its conference fell apart. Yet and still its body of work is better than yours overall and in recent years. We even routed you in Piscataway in your only AAC season.

Who the hell expects you to be in Awe of RU? You guys have some fascination with RU. You bring it up, you bash, and now I want you to be in Awe of RU??? Where do I say how great we are? All is said is that were in your heads (and it's obvious we are). Go work on your own programs, invest some money and do some planning, and just maybe, maybe, somebody will want you someday. Someday...........As for RU, trust me, the last thing any RU fan is doing is thinking about anybody in the AAC.....
PS - I really would like a pirate ship though, it's pretty cool.

Yet mentioning the pirate ship goes to show that you've been actively perusing the board of said conference you aren't thinking about. LOL.

True. But there's no way it would ever outshine this year's ECU-Rutgers basketball contest.

OK, so make that Rutgers to CUSA.
What do they care, they are getting big 10 money right now and that's all they care about. Who cares if they win, who cares that they are in the NY t.v. market, they are getting big 10 money.

Houston has been in serious conversations about NY6 and playoffs several times over the last few years. Has Rutgers?

Yeah, you didn't add any flames to the fire. That said, I understand your POV and that you were on the defensive. It was stupid to even randomly single Rutgers out.

I'll go with:
1. Investment in FB facilities - 54k Stadium for FB and inside practice bubble. Willing to pay decent salaries for coaches.
2. Great Academics - Undergrad and Grad - also a great Research University, has a Law School, and has a Medical School.
3. TV Market - NYC and NJ
4. Good Olympic sports and good investment for their facilities. Men's BB struggles at this time though yet.
5. Nepotism if you want to call it that. - Great scheduling relationship Penn State, Indiana, Michigan State, and Illinois for years prior to B-10 inclusion.
6. Rutgers work for years to get in to the B-10 by improving all of the above and working under the radar with B-10 officials for years to make those facilities improvements, dotting their i's and crossing their t's. It's called having vision, a mission, investment, and hard work to accomplish a goal rather than sitting around and "just hoping" to get picked up by the big boys one day.
Yawn, Rutgers sucks. They have no business in a conference better than the ACC, which is what the Big East used be.
I do declare - there is a little animosity here. Rutgers will continue to pick up those huge year end paychecks though.
