Completely untrue statement. Little Rock swept 18 teams in 2014 (11 in SBC play), and Texas State has swept 13 this year (9 in SBC play).

The correction I need to make is consecutive sweeps (mea copa), not the whole season. But we still have 5 matches to go so there's still that possibility.

AState had 19 sweeps and 12 Sun Belt sweeps in 2015.

Admittedly, the odds Texas State gets to 19 this year are lower simply because the Volleyball tournament has gone to the Men's Basketball double bye for the top two seeds format. Rather than getting an easy sweep against a crappy 7th or 8th place team, the Bobcats are looking at opening the tournament against a ULL type team right off the bat.

Sun Belt is in a very unusual season. Any of the top 5 can beat each other any single day, yet none of the bottom 7 stand a snowball's chance in hell of beating the Top 5. It's the one advantage of the new tournament format. Rather than having an entire day of blowouts, there are approximately two games scheduled that are guaranteed to feature a Top 5 playing a Bottom 7. (The 5 vs 8 game, and the 3 vs 6/7 winner game) The last two days are going to be something to watch for sure.

You do realize that you guys, ULL, and App are the only current Sun Belt Members to have beaten us this decade in football...right?

By those standards, you are the 3rd most successful SBC team against us in football this decade. At least we've been beating you in baseball lately. You guys tend to give us tons of trouble in basketball and most of the Olympic sports.

Our football: 7 winning seasons since 1985. . . . 19 freakin' 85. . .

By any metric, 7 winning seasons in the last 33 campaigns is abysmal . .

AState beat UTA in 4 sets last night. With only @ Little Rock left, we should finish conference play 12-4.

Coastal is almost certain to win the East, needing only a single win against either USA or Troy next week to get it. They will win the conference outright and take the #1 seed by winning both games. Texas State/ULL will play this week in San Marcos for the West title and the 2 seed in Jonesboro. Loser will be the 3 seed.

South Alabama has a 1 game lead on AState for the 4 seed, but the Red Wolves own the tiebreak. South will be the 4 seed IF they win both games. If they lose one of their last two (Coastal, App) they will be the 5 seed. Remember, Division winners get a double bye to Saturday, 3 and 4 seeds get a single bye to Friday. 5th place means you must win 4 games in 4 days to take the title.

Because of the way the matchups work, we are in all likelihood going to see AState/USA in the Quarterfinals for a spot against Coaqstal the next day, and Texas State/ULL playing on Saturday for the right to go to the Title match. I apologize to seeds 6-8, but outside of the 6-7 game guaranteed a winner, I don't see any of them winning a tournament game.

UTA takes set one v Texas State. Not that I'm expecting this to continue, but sure is nice to see the women fight against the "bad gals."

Went to the Bobcats website. Before entering the site, there's a banner proclaiming how Louisiana visits Strahan on Friday in a battle for first. Then I saw UTA also won set 2, 25-17 after the 28-26 set one win. I still expect a TXST win, but looks like everyone is overlooking the Mavs.

TXST looks mad, wins set 3 25-8.
