You do understand games broadcast on CBS are called CBS Sports. I don't think it means it is the channel. Here is a twitt from Dan Wolken where he says it will be the lead up to the show on CBS. I think it will be on CBS.

It looks like the AAC basketball championship game will be the new lead-in to the Selection Show on CBS

RE: CBS to Broadcast AAC Basketball Semis and Final
It's OTA CBS, not CBS Sports Network.
http://www.cbssports.com/college-basketb...s-in-2018/
"Selection Sunday will look different on CBS in 2018.
With the Big Ten Tournament being played at Madison Square Garden next season, that league must move up its schedule to get the games in at MSG. So, with the Big Ten moving out of its normal spot, in the Sunday afternoon window prior to the NCAA Tournament Selection Show, the American Athletic Conference is coming over to CBS.
The league and CBS announced on Tuesday that the AAC's semifinals and championship game will be broadcast on CBS on March 10 and March 11, 2018. The semifinals will air at 1 and approximately 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, then the title game will begin at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday. "

RE: CBS to Broadcast AAC Basketball Semis and Final
It may not be a coincidence that CBS picked up the AAC tournament at the same time the Shockers joined. CBS has carried the final day of the MVC tournament ( ArchMadness) for some time now. The execs over at CBS understand the value they're getting with the kind of exciting, high energy brand of basketball that Wichita State employs. Envisioning a Shocker - Cincy/UConn/Memphis final could garner more than a few eyeballs across the college basketball landscape. The nice thing about ArchMadness was that our tournament happened a week earlier than all the other major conferences. We were pretty much the only game in town. Most likely that is why we won CBS coverage. I doubt the MVC got a nickel from CBS. You have NO leverage at that level.

Correct. The CBS-Sports Network is not "the home of NCAA Basketball Tournament". CBS-OTA is.

No doubt. The Shockers are expected to be a real contender for a national crown next year.

people are really sleep on aresco....
so from frank the tank/the presser...
big 10 moves it tourney for 1 year...aresco sees an opportunity and negotiates to have our tourney to the main cbs ...and gets espn to agree with it
context ..the big 10 tourney final last year was the 4th highest rated game last year (3.6 mil) ..i doubt we touch those number, but we are moving and shaking.. last year we get 1.6mil for our tourney on espn

If it is on CBS over air, great for AAC. We really need to break out a tier 2 next go round,
We already have a small BB deal, need to add a few more games plus some FB games in, and get a decent tier 2 package in place.

more importantly, we will be able to use these ratings from the OTA CBS broadcast to pad our negotiations for a new media deal. wouldnt that be amazing if it approached 3 million..... i dream.... i know

Regardless of why, that's a pretty substantial elevation of exposure level. lol.....Going to be disappointing if we find out we are being moved to CBS-Sports Network.....
B1G moved up a week to be in MSG so CBS needed content.

More like CBS getting whatever content they can since B1G is a week earlier than normal due to MSG.

I agree.... It didn’t take long for Wichita State to have a positive impact on our basketball image. Since CBS is showing interest in our basketball and televises tournament games, I would have to think that we will get more teams in the tournament with that kind of national exposure. This type of interest is also a positive signal that there is demand for our product. I hope this translates into more tv $$$ in the future….
It's due to the B1G being a week early, not WSU.

It has 0 to do with what your saying and 100% to do with the big 10 moving its tournament for 1 year. People n here are quick to praise my the mighty Aresco when he had nothing to do with it, the AAC doesn't get paid for this and the A10, MVC and MWC plays their championship on CBS OTA.
