Grade School: Cougars - Mascot is a Cougar
High School: Shamrocks - Mascot is a Leprechaun
Undergrad: Hilltoppers (WKU) - Mascot is Big Red
Grad: Cardinals (UofL) - Mascot is Louie the Cardinal Bird
And before you ask "What's a Hilltopper?" and "What the @$#% is WKU's mascot?"... I have no clue :)
Looks like a muppet.

Undergrad was the IUP (Indiana U. Of PA) Indians...which used a black bear as their mark. This was at the start of the NCAA Indian mascot stuff. After I graduated they changed to 'Crimson Hawks' while still keeping an Indian statue in front of the field house.
I wonder if Eastern Michigan, Marquette, etc still cling to the old 'indian' names?
My elementary school was named Calusa (after the indian tribe). Our mascot was like the braves, reds, scalpers, savages, can't remember. Looked them up and now they're the "Firehawks"

RE: Unique Mascots (slow day)
This is a fun thread
Elementary - Mustangs (not unique, blatant knockoff of SMUs logo)
Middle - Wildcats (not unique, blatant knockoff of K-State's logo and colors)
High School 1 - Broncos (not unique)
High School 2 - Yellow Jackets (not unique, blatant knockoff of Georgia Tech logo and colors)
Undergrad - Horned Frogs (unique)
Graduate School - Badgers (fairly unique, although my dad's HS...Tucson High in Arizona is also the badgers)

RE: Unique Mascots (slow day)
We were the Bad Axe [MI] High School Hatchets (dad worked at Dow their HQ in Midland, MI about an hour away and mom was a teacher at BAHS)...I'm pretty sure that's the only one of it's kind. Thank god soccer got my brother and I out of the Thumb (to Indiana and Cincinnati respectively) and we were able to convince my parents to move closer to population
There is an extremely well reputed school in Ohio who the team I coach kicking/punting for plays every year that has a pretty interesting mascot, the Glenville HS Tarblooders.

My favortie though is - the Tarpon High School Spongers (yes, as in a sponge). My brother lived near there and I knew a girl that graduated from TSHS.

I think that has to be the more interesting subject. Did you childhood school mascots change?
I recall in the 80's, my 1st 2 years at Elementary, we were the "Witter Wasps" but then we changed to the Wildcats.
One of my middle schools was the Sligh Red Devils which later changed after I left to the Sligh Panthers. Weak.

No, I mean we legitimately have two different nicknames for athletics. Not a battle cry or a former name.

Wow, I think that actually rivals Sandites. We get asked what a Sandite is a lot so I know how this feels...but what is a PamPack? lol

Went to a Catholic all-boys school. Mascot is the 'Purple Wave' - only school I've ever heard with that mascot.
Represents Christianity, and yet nobody seems to be able to make this apparently MASSIVE conceptual leap: "What's a Purple Wave?!". SMDH

My dad was in the military so I spent the last two years of high school at a Department of Defense Dependent Schools. Our mascot was the Hadites.

There is a high school in West Virginia in the (unincorporated) "town" of Poca.
Their mascot is...wait for it... "The Dots."
I kid you not.
They won an ESPN contest several years back for the "most creative mascot." Their mascot costume looks like a big, red, hockey-puck with a scowling face. Always used to scare my kids to death at the County Fair.

RE: Unique Mascots (slow day)
Up the street from my office, in Morgantown, WV, is a local middle school whose mascot is the Seal... Nothing really special there, except the mascot had to go through a "redux" a couple of years ago... The old "Seal" had a sailor cap, a rolled up t-shirt with a noticeable pack of cigarettes in the sleeve, an anchor tattoo, and a "five O'clock shadow." A real bad-a** looking seal.
When the mascot was redone a couple of years back, the stubble disappeared, the cigs disappeared, and the tatt was switched from an anchor to "RRR"...which stands for "Readiness, Responsibility, and Respect."
The students also used to cheer "Hork! Hork! Hork!" at their athletic events...which has also apparently had the kibosh put upon it.

RE: Unique Mascots (slow day)
I guess I probably could share my own mascot history:
-Elementary: Dalmatians
-Middle (6-7): Knights
-Middle (8): Cougars (New school...we got to "name" the new mascot, but nobody I know ever voted for the "Cougar")
-High School: Raiders (Another new school, but I don't remember anyone asking our opinion on this one...)
-College: Road Runners (The name came from the early years of my college, which was scattered across several buildings in Downtown Denver, which saw students running across roads to get to and from classes... But even when a campus was established, when I was there, you still had to run across a six-lane road to get from one-side of the campus to the other. And even across Speer Blvd. to get to a couple of buildings.)
