Never thought I'd see the day we would pay a coach that kind of money.

Nah. He likes good food so he will take them over to Shirley's in Butler.
So, we're looking st $425k/yr (roughly $12,500/mon) plus another $12,500/mo bonus, $600/mo car allowance and $100k from Yosef...am I understanding this correctly?
If so, Scott's working into a Million Dollar coach, this is a step in the right direction.
Wonder what is CFP and Access bowl bonuses are?
Regardless, Appalachian is doing everything it can to make him happy and rewarded. He could make more elsewhere but many folks see the value in an employer giving you everything they can for you. I sense Scott is one of those, at least for now.

I think that I read that the CFP bonus is around $50,000 or so and Access Bowl is around $25,000.

Access Bowl is $25k
CFP Semi is $50k
CFP Final is an additional $25k
Winning it all is an additional $50k
Conference championship or share is $50k
SBC Coach of the Year is $20k
Winning 9+ games is $25k
930+ APR is $15k
3.0 GPA is up to $15k
2.7 GPA is up to $10k
If gross ticket sales increase by 5% or more over prior year, he gets $10k
Playing in a P5 guarantee game gets him $10k
If we have an identical year as last year he would be looking at about $165,000 in incentive bonuses
Base: $425,000
Retention Bonuses: $150,000
Yosef Club: $100,000
Incentive Bonuses: $165,000
$840,000 (ish), not bad.

Good bump but that is not coming close to keeping any top G5 or P5 from getting him anytime they want. The base is tied with the 9th lowest in the FBS the guaranteed bonuses obviously push him higher but still in the bottom third of the FBS and bottom half of the G5 until the last year of his contract it looks like. Well deserved raise though the conditional bonuses are nice but a P5 or top G5 would still crush it just in guaranteed pay.
This keeps teams like Tulane away that suck but can pay around 1M+. As we all can see that is not insignificant at all.

Wondering if any assistants are going to be seeing a salary bump as well. We've been lucky to retain as many of those guys as we have for these last few years. I'm sure Sloan got one with his promotion to Co-DC, but most all of those guys probably deserve a bump up as well. They may already have, just thinking out loud.

I get the feeling that when Satt goes, most of the staff is leaving with him, that could explain why none have left the program, especially Nate Woody. The staff and Satt are looking at it as a package deal, when Satt goes, we all go. As far as when he leaves, I still don't believe, especially with his bump in salary, that he will leave for any of the top G5 schools, he is in a great situation, coaching for the school he graduated from and truly loves, he can take his time, and be extremely choosey, this belief that he will jump ship at the first top tier G5 school that comes calling is laughable. Now, a P5 school is a totally different matter, and I think, maybe after next year if he has a great season, he will in all likelihood get a P5 offer, and he is probably gone.

My belief is that 50% of being a successful assistant is being able to hitch your wagon to a head coach with a good future.
