Funny how everyone is voting for the correct choice after the fact. When I looked a couple days ago and $3-5 million had a substantial lead but now we're almost tied. I guess hindsight is 20/20.

The AAC and MWC contracts are two completely different entities. Different time zones. Different TV windows. Different ratings histories. Different performance histories. As brands they are on opposite trajectories.
The MWC is in a nosedive.
Whatever you say. Still, people actually think you will get $5-8 million? Unreal. The trend is going in the opposite direction. People on this board remind me of the former CEO of Kodak, who couldn't see that the Kodak Photo was a dying product. Well, their HQs are a dilapidated mess on the side of a Highway in Massachusetts (seriously, drive by it. It is very symbolic of peoples inability or refusal to evolve).

The MWC wont get shhhhhhhheit because it doesn't want to play during hours that normal people watch FB.
Face it dude, the difference in exposure between the two conferences is night and day. Being in those windows has given the AAC the opportunity to develop an audience and a brand.
There are baseline numbers from other contracts that will be an indicator for different parts of the AAC contract.
MWC basketball is dead. MWC football is on life support.
Wait what? The MW doesn't want to play games when normal people watch football? Do you not read about CFB? Damn, I feel like I am communicating with a neophyte. Carry on with your silly $5 to $10 million notion. You know I will be here to say I told you so when you are crying over your $3 million a year contract.
Normal people don't watch MWC games on Saturdays. There are too many options. The only people who watch those games are packing coolers to set on the empty seats next to them in MWC stadiums.
You and I both know the MWC isn't getting the TV slots the AAC has presently to prove it has any kind of viewership. That's where it needs to start. The AAC has positioned itself nicely by securing that opportunity.
Dude, normal people don't watch the AAC either. That is the point. Normal people don't know who is in the AAC or the MWC. Normal people still think the WAC exists. If you think normal people can name six teams in the AAC, you are ******* nuts.
AAC is doing well. Nice conference. Good teams. Good coaches. Very competitive.....and you will be rewarded by a $3 million dollar TV contract that Aresco takes as an extension. Enjoy. I will be here to say I told you so.
At what point have I been making claims that the MW is going to take over any TV slots? I have not. I am just laughing at the crazy predictions here, and using logic to say that when the AAC sets the G5 market in a few years, the MW will get a similarly ****** payout, but certainly more ******. Enjoy. I will be here to laugh at all of us. After all, we are in this together.
was it funny??

Ha. It was the only game on, and was on ESPN. Holy ****.....I feel like I am in la la land.
Isn't that kind of the point? The AAC secured a timeslot on ESPN with no competition and a bunch of people watched it. Seems like a recipe for success.
Not much needed to be said and you our new comrade nailed it here
Sure. I have never argued timeslots. The poster created that argument. Just pointed to the obvious point that you will not double or triple or quadruple your TV contrac. You may be a 50% bump. Like I said....around $3 million. I'll be here to say I told you so. Enjoy
you did tell us so..

Can you explain your MWC lineup? I am intereted
Why try? Nobody can compete with your "everything is awesome....it is fun when you're part of a team" outlook. SDSU does have Don Coryell though, and that is about as relevant as your Phi Slamma Jamma reference.
Fanhood you are the most jealous poster on these boards. The AAC is head and shoulders above the MWC. The MWC is even talking about pulling out of their relationship with ESPN because the money may not be worth the time slots they have been given for tv. AAC has positioned itself for a good payday.
Aresco added Witcha State with the blessing of ESPN. ESPN is going to pay decent money for the AAC. If you don't like it tough.Your bitter rants will not change this reality.
This made me smile. Jealous? Of what?
I would be jealous if you had something that the MW doesn't currently have. If the AAC did actually get a $5 million dollar a year per team TV contract, yes I would then be jealous. Until then, I will continue to laugh at your myopia, and predict you get a nominal increase in TV revenue.
so, are you jealous?

Of the $6 million or so number after you deduct for production costs? Yes. However, it’s not over, and I despise ESPN.
With that, I think it’s a good contract for you folks.
