RE: CJ Bryce
Scouts find players. If he's the man at UNCW, that would certainly be better to me than not being the man and sitting for a year. If this is about academics and getting the right fit there, that's a different story entirely. And, that just might be the case.

As he should. That would be a good landing spot for him, albeit a long way from home.
He wanted to fly the nest to play on a bigger stage, and Gonzaga is at that top tear right now. Young men joining the military go farther away from home all the time. If he's going to leave, he may as well leave for the greenest pasture he can get. If he really wants to go big-time he'd be willing to go west if that was the price to do it.

RE: CJ Bryce
Personally, as good as he is, I don't see him in the NBA. I see him playing overseas for good money. And that would not have been any different if he stayed here. What won't happen, wherever he goes, is he will never be able to come back to that school and see his jersey hanging in the rafters. He was on track for that happening at Trask. Of course, I do know I could be wrong about him having a better chance for the NBA. But I'm afraid odds are just as good that he gets lost in the lineup.

RE: CJ Bryce
Gonzaga would probably be the one school on the list of schools interested in him that I'd be happy to see him go to. At least we can say we lost him to an elite program, and won't have to hear much about him in this region.

I do wish CJ success. And I'll be pulling for him. But I just think he made a mistake. Hope he proves me wrong.

I think the majority of us share that opinion.

I wish him neither failure nor success, he is a non- entity to me. He decided he wanted nothing to do with UNCW at this stage, I decided I have no interest in decisions he makes from this point forward.

RE: CJ Bryce
Cacok has more upside than Bryce when considering NBA potential. I can guarantee you he actually will get more touches in the paint next year at UNCW. I'd expect our offense to run through him the majority of the time. I couldn't help but notice frustration on his face at times last year when he didn't get post feeds with good position. He is much better than the continuous pick and roll offense allowed him to be. Sure, his FG% will go down as a result.

RE: CJ Bryce
McGrath was the best thing to happen for Cacock's pro career. He was going to play the 5 under Keatts, which would not translate to a pro career. He will now get the opportunity to play power forward and develop his skills in that position. With his athletic ability, rebounding and ability to finish around the basket, if he can develop his offense facing the basket, he could be a legit NBA power forward.

Agree with you here. He has a legit shot at a F in the NBA, he needs to develop that mid range game.

RE: CJ Bryce
There are actually role players in the NBA with little to no mid-range game. They are used for defense of course. But there are those, like Cacock, who are so athletic around the basket they can be used by a three point shooting team, like Golden State, to keep the opponents from stretching out to far to attempt to stop the long range scoring. And, while I think Cackok will develop more, he is a good candidate for that role.

Always possible, my point was IF he can develop that mid range it would certainly make his stock go up significantly.

Looking back on how much he has improved other parts of his game, I feel like this is is his next step and will succeed at it.

With those hands and his strength, I still wonder what kind of tight end he would make.

No doubt. I don't ever remember witnessing such a dramatic jump from year 1 to 2 before.

RE: CJ Bryce
The only other jump from year 1 to year 2 I can remember being close to Cacok's was Danny Davis. And that goes a long, long way back.
