Our best team was last season. But we've played a better half season so far this year. So who knows ...
But luckily, the ACC has several baseball squads who could pull that off.

Thanks goes out to Clemson. When they win national title in football, Carolina does in basketball!

As a fan of an ACC team, good for UNC repping the conference.
But I will say I was rooting for Gonzaga - I grew up a fan of mid-major programs and was hoping Mark Few would finally break that glass ceiling.
Also, what an atrociously officiated game, for both teams. Ticky tack fouls everywhere. The refs completely killed the flow in the second half and it made most of that 20 minutes almost unwatchable. Sadly, the officiating is going to be a big story coming out of that game.

Great job, Tar Heels! You just won me about a thousand bucks!
I had no idea I was even close until the guy running the bracket sent me a text with about three minutes left asking how nervous I was? I jokingly replied that I was chewing my nails to the nub over the game and complained how boring it was. I thought both teams and the officials performed very poorly tonight. This game sucked!
He realized that I had no clue I was on the precipice of victory and told me that if UNC won, I would win too. If the Zags won, some chick would have won.
At that point, I turned into the biggest North Carolina fan in Western Pennsylvania.
I am honestly shocked because I was atrocious in the first two rounds and pretty much stopped following it. I haven't even glanced at my bracket in at least two weeks. I guess everyone else was somehow even worse? Whatever. I will take it.

I had North Carolina, Gonzaga, Villanova and I took a shot with Michigan. I did not love anyone in that region and I liked the way they were playing.

It wasn't a pretty game...OK, it was down right ugly, but still very entertaining. Two heavyweights slugging it out for a National Championship. Carolinas big game experience came through in the end.
Congratulations!

I wonder how much of that is a function of playing basketball in a football stadium. Shooting percentages for the entire Final Four were atrocious. Carolina shot 4-27 on 3's last night. Both teams were well under 40% on all field goal tries. Carolina missed a ton of free throws, and the Zags weren't much better. What role does depth perception play in such poor shooting?
How does that affect officiating? All those misses mean lots of rebounds, and that exposes your bigs to lots of contact, and lots of opportunities to foul. I don't think it's just a coincidence that both teams' bigs were in serious foul trouble.
It's nice to sell more than 70,000 tickets at inflated prices. But I don't think it makes for quality play on the court.
