Pfffft..... we already have FOUR running backs as good or better than Richardson. And....every one of them made academic honor role. I hope for the kid's sake you can get him cleared but I had lunch in Jan. with an assistant coach for an SEC school and he told me the best scenario for the kid would be to sit out a year to get his academics in order with a Presidential exemption and then have three years left to play. Maybe that's UCF's game plan for him.

lol no you dont. If he had any interest in memphis at all Memphis would have taken him in. Memphis regularly takes in academic risks, its the life of an AAC team (except tulane).

You would only have to know what has been going on at his high school to know that isn't true.........UCF recruiters are just a little naive about that high school program.

It's not sour grapes lol. Most highly rank Memphis kids don't come to Memphis because of their entourage pushing them towards SEC schools. Plus we are getting 4* kids in Vol Country and Sooner land right now so I think we will live.

I don't know anyone that is pulling against the kid. I honestly hope it works out for him & UCF. And Memphis didn't miss out on him, BTW. His high school is notorious for their cheating & is currently involved from the principal down in grade changing, test fraud, etc - & this is known among the Memphis admin. The TSSAA is coming down on the school as we write, the principal has resigned & others are transferring out. Imagine the NCAA is following this pretty close & it will not end well. There's this precedent called "strict liability" that will likely come into play at some point - since it's the AAC & UCF not Duke, UNC or some elite school. Understand fully why the kid wants to get out of Memphis (at least his school) but he should have done that in about the 10th grade.

If he was a former memphis player, a former plumber, or a former neurosurgeon... how do any of those increase his credibility on this subject in any way?
If you told me he currently is a teacher at the high school... or currently works at the NCAA clearinghouse, then I'm listening. I file his input next to jimmy's, who is the uncle of a kid, who's best friend attended a HS game at the school.

Exactly. That's what I'm saying. When someone is speaking from an area of expertise and years of experience, that information carries weight and I listen.
If, for instance, a former Memphis football player is giving advice on how to deal with constant losses, that's an opinion you listen to.

Not that it really matters. My senior year, UCF was a first year Div. 3 football program. We opened the season with a 14-13 road win over Miss. St. in Jackson, MS. UCF opened with a 21-0 win over something called St. Leo.

I'll be back on this thread again when your players report. If I'm wrong, I have no problem admitting it. We'll see.
