That's complete horsechit. Marshall may have had a down year in '16 but prior to that they were a top program in CUSA since we both joined the conference. There are exceptions, like FAU who couldn't win despite solid classes under Partridge but in general recruiting absolutely matters, tbh.

Hopefully FAU, UTSA, and FIU can start to turn things around with these improved recruiting classes. Just note that 247's listing of FIU's commits is all messed up. FIU might drop another spot once it is corrected as we didn't sign all the players that 247 has listed. Nonetheless, it was FIU's best class in a few years and I look forward to seeing what Butch can do with a full year to recruit.

Here's the past 3 years records:
WKU: 31-10 (19-5)
Marshall 26-13 (15-9)
La. Tech: 27-15 (19-5)
MTSU: 21-17 (16-8)
ODU: 21-16 (14-10)
USM: 19-20 (12-12)
Rice: 16-21 (10-14)
UTEP: 16-22 (10-14)
UTSA: 13-24 (11-13)
FIU: 13-23 (10-14)
UNT: 10-27 (6-18)
FAU: 9-27 (7-17)
_________________________
UAB: 6-6 (4-4) - 1 year
Charlotte: 6-18 (3-13) - 2 years
TBH, I wonder why the Texas and Florida schools have been struggling so mightly in football and MBB. MBB CUSA standings have been similar.

His principal is a troy grad and was in his ear. His girlfriend is going to troy.
He signed a loi with troy. However MAMA would not sign it. She would only sign a letter for him to come to Hattiesburg.
Mom vs Vajayjay??

Well that's confusing. He was Troy's late add. His mom was all for him going to Troy. And there is articles of him picking Troy and video of him picking Troy and signing his LOI with family there. I'm not sure how he could've gotten out of his LOI that quickly.

This has been our best recruiting year in a while. Size, speed, athleticism, smarts. 29 kids and only a few were JUCOs.

UTSA already has. We doubled our win total last year, and I see no way we don't finish at least 7-5 and head to another bowl next year.

You won't.
Not with them recruiting like this. And that's not hating. It's a fact of life down here. No biggie. Just hire another one. I watched that beatdown ya'll put on Middle though and came away very impressed. I fully expect ya'll to contend solidly from here on out. You have the ship pointed in the right direction. Something catastrophic would have to happen to put ya'll back at the bottom.

THat has nothing to do with it...Bowling Green and Ruston are two of the smallest cities in CUSA, however both have had huge success last few years in this conference....Not on paper in Feb., but on Dec. 5th when WKU was holding the trophy for 2nd season in a rwo.....Its all about getting talent and then once you have talent fitting them into your system and coaching them up to be successful in this conference....Has nothing to do with what city you are in 9 times out of 10...We are all getting similar talent minus a few here and there...Key in college football also is you better have a solid QB, if not you are screwed...

What he said ^^^^^^
The programs at the top of this league and others are located in small traditional college towns. bowling green, Ruston, Hattiesburg and Huntington.
It comes from being consistent year in and year out.

That story is a possible true story, but it still only a rumor and will probably never be fully explained. What we do know is that Adams never faxed his LOI to Troy and this evening he did fax it to Southern Miss.

That's a great post. Very poignant. Every year we go through this same ole dance.......Marshall fans insist that they signed the best class, and the bottom 3rd of the conference always claims they just signed a national championship class.

Partridge was a heck of a recruiter. But he couldn't coach. It all has to be on coaching. A better coach would not have the team continually blow 2-TD leads for three consecutive years.
