RE: Speculating on Lester's staff
Some of you experts who are whining about Lester's hires need to remember Ciarrocca and Pinkham were both coaching in FCS - not FBS - when Fleck hired them here.

I don't have an issue with getting guys from FCS. In fact I would have been fine with a non-FBS head coach. My concern has been with not hiring pinkham. But maybe pinkham simply was not interested, and wasn't an option.

Like a FCS coach that has won a national championship? Ciarrocca had a good history, part of some successful Rutgers teams and was part of a national championship at Delaware, as well as having developed Joe Flacco.

My concern as well.

If Pinkham wanted the job, it should have been given to him. He helped achieve something no Bronco, including Lester, has been able to achieve in 28-years. The program needed continuity, not a shake-up.

If Pinkham did not want the HC job, however, that's another story.

04-cheers

Eric Evans, offensive coordinator from Dayton will be our RB coach. Mostly been a WR/TE coach, but did a stint at UAB where he coached Jordan Howard as a freshman.

Not bad. Dayton has gone 27-7 in the last 3 years.

How about considering former Bronco WR - Steve Neal as wide receiver coach. He has spent 7 years as WR coach at Wayne State and a few other coaching gigs ad well. He was a favorite target of Lester ba k in tbe day.

Already have Ashton Aikens as WR coach

I look forward to a press releases announcing the coaches and responsibilities. Did Lester hire a recruiting coordinator?

Yep. Just waiting for the official announcement now.

HC: Tim Lester
OC/QBs: Kevin Johns
Co-DC/DL: Lou Esposito
Co-DC: Tim Daoust
OL?: Jake Moreland
OT/TE?: Bill Kenney
RB: Eric Evans
WR: Ashton Aikens
LB: David Duggan
DB: Cory Sanders

I assume one of them will also take over special teams.

Got to think it will be Daoust or Esposito doing special teams. I think Kenney is gone and Moreland will probably do OL and TE

Moreland won't do OL and TE. Impossible for one guy to do both. Also, that would only be 8 assistants.

RE: Speculating on Lester's staff
Here are my priorities in regards to assistant coaches:

1. Can they recruit talent?
2. Can they recruit more talent?
3. Can they recruit even more talent?
4. X's and O's.

I do not think this past season was any mystery. Our team was just deeper / stronger / faster than our MAC bretheren.

You have to be able to develop the talent you recruit once you get it on campus, too.

Agreed.

1. Recruit
2. Get the most out of your players
3. Everything else

That is a great question. I wasn't aware Steve Neal was in coaching and available. He helped the Broncos battle Florida competitively in the Swamp, as I recall.

Ashton Aikens went to school in at Detroit Country Day. I would guess that he will be our Detroit recruiter.

Neal is working for Lions, in scouting department I believe.

Probably not interested in coaching at G5 level as opposed to working in The League, especially in his hometown.
