Actually happened to us in 2012. We were the highest rated RPI team left out of the NCAA right around that number.
We had an RPI of 42 then. And still only a 5 seed in the NIT, which was total BS.

Where did you see I said Marshall would get an at large. You must have a reading comprehension problem. I clearly stated that would be Marshall winning CUSA with MTSU getting an at large.
It def won't be UAB winning any tourney this year. Ive watched a few UAB games. And you are bad and its not just because Norton is out. Your passing is horrid, N Texas constantly stole the ball by just slapping at it. You don't have any consistent shooters on the floor and I'm not impressed at all with Ehsan. You can tell when someone has it, Haas had it, Anderson had it, Bartow had it. Ehsan does not.
The schools I thought Marshall should be scared of this year are scary in a different way. Now I'm just scared they will drop a game to them. As far as WKU, UAB, ODU they don't scare me in thinking they are the better team, they aren't. They might have better individual players but they don't play cohesive basketball.
Ok friend. First of all, you're a Marshall fan. Your basketball team has not been good since the 80's so there's no need to get a big head. Secondly, I never said anything about UAB this season. I simply stated a fact, which is Marshall doesn't get an at large unless they win out. Thirdly, in your above post you stated "If both Marshall and MTSU can get though the conference without screwing up a game or two with a bad loss. And we meet in the CUSA championship, I think there is a good chance we could land two." You didn't say "If Marshall wins and MTSU loses there's a good chance we get two bids." This implies that regardless of who wins or loses the tournament championship, each team can earn a bid. Lastly, if UAB manages to beat Marshall on Saturday, like they've done 9 of the last ten times they've played, then I will once again remind you that Marshall will not be getting an at large bid.

RE: CUSA Basketball -- Conference Play Week Two
CUSA should always be at min. a two bid league...However that is hard to do when the ACC will get 11 teams in this season....Good for us is the American is not as great of a basketball conference as they thought either so we have a chance this season if MTSU loses in title game to Marshall and MTSU only loses a couple of CUSA games...

The A-10 is also down and probably won't get as many teams as they have been getting. Unfortunately, I still don't think any of our teams are going to have an at-large worthy resume.

Marshall teams in the last decade or so have been not bad. Played for cusa title, and couldn't get through Memphis, just like everyone else while they were here. However long it is u til Dantoni retires, get used to marshall being a contender.

RE: CUSA Basketball -- Conference Play Week Two
Coach D'Antoni forced us to do what no other team has been able to do: play in your up-tempo style the entire second half.
And he may just have done us a real favor in that regard, because (although we lost) we actually didn't look half-terrible playing at your pace. And I suspect that we saw some of that fast-tempo play re-emerge in the WKU game.
We're not going to get away from our defense-first mantra. But it would be nice if at least some of those D'Antoni-inflicted lessons stick with us for the balance of this season.

I'lll just come out and say it. Ehsan sucks as a HC and you aren't 9-7 just because Nick Norton is out. Clearly you are missing Robert Brown more than you are Nick Norton. Cokely looks like he has regressed more than he has progressed. Actually I think you are missing Haas more than anything. NO LEADERSHIP ON UAB right now.
And the 2 games last year you won against the Herd if we actually knew how to shoot FTs you would have lost. We was 11-23 in the 1st game and lost 81-78. And was 15-27 in the 2nd game and lost 94-91. We shoot 78% from the line last year, like we are this year then we win both of those games going away.
You sound like a Memphis fan. As if UAB will ever attain that level. But whatever. You was probably one of those that was giddy as can be that Marshall hired a 66 year old that had 1 year of college coaching in 1970, where he coached Marshall's freshman team that included Mike.
Right now we are playing well, have a coach that actually knows what he is doing, has recruited local talent that he is winning with, so deal with it.... We aren't going away anytime soon.

Lol, thank you so much for finally coming out and saying it. If you didn't tell us we would've never known any of these things. No one knew the loss of Brown and Norton were big, nor is anyone at UAB questioning Ehsan's coaching ability /s
But honestly, I think everyone would like for every school to make solid basketball hires so the conference can stop wandering this barren wasteland of suckage. Can't imagine any random fan being "giddy" about marshal supposedly making a questionable hire in basketball. I doubt Marshall hires cross many other fans minds at all, much like most people probably don't give it a second thought who UAB hires

That's probably true - as of right now they look like they'll get 3 (VCU, Dayton, Rhody) which is way down for them. All the better to make way for a few more ACC teams!

Honestly pal, the D'antoni hire didn't even cross my radar when it happened because I could not care less about Marshall or their basketball team. I'm not sure why you are comparing me to a Memphis fan. I'm not on here gloating about UAB, nor have I ever done so. Perhaps if you review some of my previous posts you will see I've been very critical of UAB this season and very complimentary of other teams in this league, including your own.

I have no doubt that USM is improved from the beginning of the season but we looked awful tonight. LT will hand us our ass on Sat if that's how we play.
