Trump out-performing thus far.

I guess the chance of us getting our own authoritarian Vladimir Putin is pretty high.

Trump's focus on protectionist and anti-free trade rhetoric struck a chord with the manufacturing union rank n file (not the bosses) in the rust belt. Saw that coming. I still thought Hillary would win, but I knew he'd convert a lot of the blue collar types who typically go Dem.

The post-Brexit market plunge recovered in about a week.

Let's hope this isn't significantly different.

Trump won because Hillary was so awful. If Hillary won it would have been because trump is so awful. It's like having the worst two teams in college football play each other. One of them will win, not because they are good, but because the other is just worse.

You are correct.

Yesterday was a "rejection election."

The DNC did this to themselves. They had a huge contingent of voters who supported bernie who would have voted for Clinton had it not come out that the DNC stacked the deck from the get-go, and instead they felt spurned and went third party.

They doubled down on themselves then. They got the very person they should have never allowed to take office. I don't feel bad for anyone any longer, "you get what you let". Voting third party was a vote for Trump.

That may have been a protest vote, but like any snit, the kid doing the snitting will have to live with the result.

I sure don't want to hear from the demographic who should be DEM's that "the man is keeping them down", they didn't support last night. They're on their own as far as I'm concerned. Guess people were too busy taking knees and saying their lives mattered to vote.

This also is turning out to be the "Red Neck Election". White voters with no college education handed Trump the election. People angry at their disposition and blame the establishment.

It appears that Clinton still won the popular vote.

In politics, you rarely get what you want.

You get what you deserve.....

That's my line. I've said all along that we got this choice because of one thing, us. 04-chairshot

But, in the end there was a choice.

This guy is EXACTLY what we deserve as a country. He's a reflection of an obviously, very large group, like looking in the mirror!!

Hope we take a hard look with good lighting, warts and all. They might think it's a great image, but if we look hard and long enough, it ain't pretty.

Maybe they'll pass some anti SLAPP legislation while they're at it this year? One can only hope, truth should be allowed to be spoken unencumbered.

This was interesting to me.

Use tariffs to punish corporations "that behave badly".
Anti-NAFTA
Less intervention overseas
Increase infrastructure spending
Higher taxes for hedge fund managers, etc.

Positions previously quite appealing to rank and file Democrats.
