RE: The Official 2016 Election Night Thread
Quote:Both.
Why would "Big Oil" favor Trump?
From my perspective, few benefitted more from the BHO/Yellen artificially low interest rates than oil companies.
And now that the inevitable is happening, and many in that space are going bankrupt, what many oil companies need most is to be able to roll over their debt.
Trump is on record as saying he thinks the BHO/Yellen policy is bad, and that interest rates should be higher.
What am I missing?

Trump doesn't believe in climate change therefore he supports drilling for oil literally everywhere and polluting as much as possible. He may sign a executive order to close down the EPA.

That's only part of it, Russia needs their sanctions against them lifted asap.
If you lemmings think that for the second time in 16 years that ALL the polls can get it this wrong, I have swamp land for you in Yuma on the cheap.

He's for increased domestic production not oversea's which doesn't fly with some of the companies, particularly those eyeing Mexico.

RE: The Official 2016 Election Night Thread
With the US able to export oil, the cartel doesn't care the source. Foreign or domestic plays are all just that, plays. I worked in that business for 6 years, I saw all too well how they think and how entitled they feel.
OPEC was complicit with the Obama administration in crashing the prices and hurting the Soviet Union's export margins. Russia is hurting, and you watch now that the cartel will have all the power, oil will be near $90.00 per barrel. They're banking on it, look at the market the last couple of days.
Once OPEC finally gets aligned, and they can now, it's going to go straight up.

I don't think that word means what you think it means...
You keep saying that ALL the polls got it wrong. This is not true. The LA Times poll predicted a big Trump win and they were criticized heavily for it. The IBD had Trump winning on election day as well.
Trafalgar Group predicted that Trump would win Michigan and Pennsylvania... which he did. They also predicted that Trump would win 306 electoral votes with Wisconsin possibly breaking for Trump as well due to "hidden voters". Pretty accurate.

Huh?
First off, Trafalgar Group does not do a national poll, just states, so no, they did not have Trump winning the popular vote, they did not have anyone winning the popular vote.
Secondly, IBD had a general election day poll of Clinton Vs. Trump and they had Clinton winning by one percentage point.
Thirdly, in the last few elections, the numbers of undecideds have been around three percent, in this election, it was around 12% on election day.... pretty hard to have accurate polling with 12% undecided...

Trafalgar I don't give a fawck about, I'm talking national polls with an A or A- rating. Plus, they're a Republican polling group. Maybe they were in on the fix.
All were wrong. Why?

I answered you and you ignored it. I'll try again. Twelve percent undecided. Would not say who they were voting for. Most ended up breaking for Trump, by about a 2 to 1 margin.

I'm saying that I don't believe it. Just more proof that Trump is the reality show watching, GED getting, Wall Mart shopping, stupid people's president.
Undecided.
That's like some jackhole saying they root for WMU and U of M.

Start saving your loose change. Trump's infrastructure plan is going to lean heavily on toll roads run by private companies. If you have travelled in Florida recently you will know what to expect.

Toll roads like the Rickenbacker Causeway, Sawgrass Expressway, etc
have been around a long time. Nothing new. The tollroads in the Orlando, locals try to avoid them. Like free college education, the money to rebuild the infrastructure has to come from somewhere. Might as well be those that use it pay for it. And of course it will create jobs.
