If he reaches 5% it should be champagne and roses at LP HQ.

I think he'll get a little above 2%, maybe 2.5%.

Libertarians hate the system until they start benefiting from it.

Johnson squandered just about every opportunity the Johnson/Weld ticket had to end with 5%. Doubtful he could even woo the snarky write-in crowd at this point. I always lament wasted chances

538 is predicting GJ hits 5.0% on the nose. I think he falls short by a point.

If they do reach 5% I hope they do more with it than the Reform Party.

I challenge you to find a single Libertarian that objects to the Constitution. I'll wait.

Gave my vote to GJ. Not enthusiastically, but of the 3, he is the best choice.

In John's defense I think he was referring to getting federal funds for hitting the 5% mark.

Its funny that the libertarian party wants government money.

You are unfairly keeping us out of the debates ==> advocates for keeping Stein out of the debates.

******* about the establishment system in the electorate ==> Prays to god they hit the 5% benchmark needed to qualify for federal funding. (i'm not even going to address the even dumber issue of small gov libertarians advocating for public funding)

it's like you try to ignore what I say.

Uh, I feel extremely confident that everybody at the LP -- including the current nominee -- would say publicly that they'd love nothing more than the LP to ultimately dismantle the program that sends federal money to political parties. And stop the federal money going to party conventions (something only the Democrats and Republicans get to do). And stop the CPD and return the POTUS debates to the League of Women Voters.

But of course, that requires you understand libertarianism. Which you never have.

I voted Johnson/Weld this morning but I suspect they will end up with about 3.5%.

As for the federal funding thing there is no extra tax money going to that program and it is voluntarily taxpayer funded. I have no issue with the party taking it even if they would eventually dismantle the program.
