Like everything else Western.... too busy bedding down hot chicks and drinking the best beers in Michigan to notice.
Apparently....
They way it was described to me? "These dullards couldn't look up from their phones long enough to notice".

RE: Billboards?!
I've seen a few:
1.) 196 at Lake Michigan Dr exit near downtown GR
2.)131 kind of in the middle of GR and Kalamazoo
3.) Pretty sure I saw one on M6 as well.
I don't think they were electronic.
Love the hype!
Even heard people talking about WMU having a great season when I was at the store in GR. Just things like that you wouldn't hear before.

No, up there you hear how Grand Valley could beat WMU in any sport of their choosing. Place is it's own private Idaho.

No no no. The billboards have been different and progressing each week. LOVE IT.

RE: Billboards?!
On the way to Grand Rapids an hour after the Northern Illinois win, I could not believe my eyes when I say on 4 different electronic billboards something like "6 and 0" or "6 - 0" in brown and gold with our "W". It took me until I saw it on the second one to realize that it was real, just an hour after our victory. It was cool and I was very proud.

Hey, the marketing is great. I agree about loving the aggressive intentions.
But "Undefeated" ?
Sorry, too soon. Like starting a TD dance before you cross the goal line.
Does Michigan have billboards across the state saying "Undefeated."
No. Not elite.
Act like you've been there before, even if you have not.
Celebrate what WMU has earned - Michigan MAC Trophy and Cannon Trophy - and save the "Undefeated" until the end of the season when it means something.
That said, by all means celebrate and promote the program. But celebrate what is earned and meaningful. Undefeated in October is nice, but irrelevant.

RE: Billboards?!
Yeah, it is too soon. I could even see PJ having mixed feelings about it.
I think the marketing dept is probably trying to cash in as much as possible... and it is a safe bet we'll be undefeated until Toledo (and will also nudge people to watch us on weekdays now).

Stick my neck out and disagree.
Enjoy the moment. Celebrating undefeated (for us at least) is being willing to say we are doing great, we feel good about it, not bragging, just saying hey, look at us, come to the next game, hop on the wagon, things are good in Kzoo.
Not that arrogant thing like MSU, or that understated Michigan Man thing.
More we are the Broncos, dang it watch us buck around!

Speaking of MSU, hopefully they muster everything they've got and take scUM out this weekend.

I'm pretty sure if they pull that off, the great lakes would all become saltwater on the tears of wolverines.

One of those billboards is on Boardman Avenue in Jackson, near Lowes and other retail stores. I've had people talk to me about WMU success that have scoffed at the school for years. It's great to see the talent on the field and having it "rowing" together toward national exposure. When I wear my WMU shirt in public now people make some positive comments. It is GREAT.
