While I agree that the purpose of the P5 label is revenue distribution, it has become bigger than that.

And who cares who makes more money?

Notre Dame makes a boatload of money and they are 4-7. Texas has the biggest budget, they lost to Kansas yesterday and their coach is being fired.

College football labels SHOULD NOT BE ABOUT WHO MAKES THE MOST MONEY.

The P6 label is about play on the field.

That is actually more relevant, especially when the word POWER is involved.

Interesting, that SDSU is ahead of Navy in Massey Rankings. I think Navy will be ranked in the poll that matters come Tuesday. At this point, they deserve it.

Damnit! This pisses me off! In the absence of teams being ranked in the CFP Poll, the MW should use these rankings to determine who hosts the game. Instead, we just use four, and Wyoming will now host the game (if they beat New Mexico).

Since the start of the thread the distance between us and the Big 12 has dropped from 12.51 to 6.04. That's a lot of forward progress if you ask me.

I would venture to say most years the B12 crushes the AAC in head to head match ups....

Perhaps, if UT gets back on track that will certainly make it much harder to keep pace with them. Fun to watch them slide in the meantime.

The #4 team in the AAC west crushed the top team in the B12. Memphis has crushed the B12 two years in a row. A few years back, UCF crushed Baylor.

When the B12 takes on the top of the AAC, it is the B12 who ends up getting crushed.

So we finished in 99th position - which is somehow still better than a couple of P5 schools. We also finished exactly ONE position better than Georgia Southern.

I hope we finish in the 70s next season (it's a fair goal).
