There was a moment today. A break in the action they played a video from Fitzpatrick sp. NU coach, any way PJ actually took off his headphones and watched it. Coach was talking about respect, how nobody will just give you respect, you have to earn it. How it is hard to get that, it takes time, you've got to fight to get it, stay with your process, etc.

I was impressed to see him take the twenty seconds out of the game to actually watch that. Pretty cool. Those little moments that people don't notice mean a lot to me.

Ernie... on a similar note... I do not like Butch Jones at all... But the cameras caught him after almost losing to App St. the other night... He went up to the App St team when they were all huddled together after the game.... and addressed them.... as the opposing coach... to go to the OTHER side line... and address the ENTIRE other team ... that was something.... giving them what looked like a huge pump up speech... gave them the full respect... little things.

I agree Ernie. I feel like Coach Fleck got off on the wrong foot with a lot of folks, including me. Too much talking, not enough action. I think the motos and explanations that he uses come off really cheesy.

That being said, I think he's a decent guy and truly has a vision. The players respond to him and his message, and that's really what matters. Doesn't matter if I like his style. It matters that he's sticking to who he is and what he believes in. In that process he's getting results and changing young men's lives. For that I applaud him.
