Personally I would have like to see NT Dallas McClarty. He's a senior and was told in HS that he'd never pay at the DI level. Plus, he is one of a handful of players that Withers has praised since the Spring.

So football is the one sport where we are not yet in the sun belt this year. We are FCS independent. So I'm a little surprised we are sending anyone at all. It has nothing to do with funding. It has everything to do with the fact that it is borderline pointless for us to be there at all to begin with, so why bring extra people?

We sometimes have fun with names on the State board. One that I like here is IRONHEAD GALLON, a GS linebacker. Now thats a name thats true to the position.

I'm glad we'll have some presence. It at least bridges a gap since we'll be independent and will get some media coverage and we can discuss the transition. We also made it into the SBC media guide for information purposes.

I'm gonna miss our WR Sims McElfresh (Mack-el-fresh). Neiheisel had him on his SXM show and asked him how awesome it is to walk up to girls on campus and tell them your name is McElfresh.

App and GS both had their coach's attend in their final FCS season in 2013. It was the only Sun Belt event Monken took part it.

Most, not all, of the players invited to media day are seniors. Why invite Coastal seniors to a conference media day to have beat writers ask them questions about teams they wont play.
