Part of the game plan this year at Temple will be to limit the wear and tear on Jahad Thomas. True Sophomore Jager Gardner is a big back at 6’2 and 215 pounds with speed and will play a major role in the offense.
I like Jager, but Ryquell Armstead is really the one to watch.
I agree, Ryquell is a stud. What I like about Jager and why I think he will have a break out season is his size, he’s a big hard inside runner. Honestly I hope to see all 3 back ups getting a good amount of playing time helping to keep Jahad fresh, he was pretty beat up by the end of last season.
Another player who showed some flashes last season that I think has the potential to have a really nice year is Kip Patton. Starting in last year’s Cherry and White game and into last season he showed he can be a handful to try and tackle in the open field.
I think the offense has the depth and talent to take a nice step up this season.

Both of those players are legit top 10 newcomer type players. Cherry is a former 4 star Texas recruit, and Valdes-Scantling is a 6'5" man child receiver.

Oliver's motor never stops running... He's going to make everyone around him better, that's how good he is.

I think that the local Florida papers in those cities recognize USF and UCF as having relatively large followings. Houston's fanbase has always been swallowed up when compared to the size of UT and TA&M fanbases.
I wish all of our schools had this quality of coverage, especially in the off-season.
Newspapers don't have the staff or space to devote this kind of coverage in late June anymore.

Texas, Florida, and California have historically received more coverage in terms of media recruiting coverage. Naturally this bodes well for schools of those states as far as hype this time of year in the excitement of newly acquired players to their programs. I'd be hyped too and I'm happy for all conference brethren because we're all in it together. This fact of recruiting coverage was pointed out by Lincoln Riley after his first season at ECU. He's from Texas and after seeing the talent the state of NC high school's produced he stated "if many NC players who were high 2 stars or low 3 stars where from the state of Texas they would be 4 stars". His words not mine.
My point is enjoy the hype, but remember that's all it is. The reality is the season and it gets closer everyday. All teams hyped or under the radar are working hard right now. The season is their defining moment. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out!!!!

He said don't be if he's surprised if he's starting sooner than later, which also means he thinks he probably won't start out as starter, but will earn it soon.
So you think he has no shot at starting eventually? Why?
Because we have two electric recruits that I believe are much better.
yup...let me guess: you have two qb's who are both future Heisman Trophy candidates....
it's ECU fanbase...it what you do. You think every qb on your roster is the next Heisman in waiting....
