Starr doesn't coach football.
Win at all costs. It's the Baylor way.
Hardly only the Baylor way. It's the attitude everywhere except for ECU basketball.

If Briles isn't fired, I think the backlash of that decision will affect Baylor greatly.

At the very least it will hurt their recruiting.

The house cleaning is probably not over.
Firing Star but not the AD and coach is like prosecuting the one that hires a killer, but not the one that does the killing.
If the AD and coach are still there this coming September, will parents send their daughters there? There are numerous religious schools in Texas. Some are exclusive. BU could lose both current and future students if there is not a major cleaning.

Also, how does this reflects upon the Big 12 as another username said at another forum and I cannot help but agree:
This could B a HUGE embarrassment 4 the Big 12
as the NFL has cracked down on intolerance towards
rape &/or assault perpetrators
the Big 12 might have 2 follow suit.
Many are calling for Art Briles & Ken Starr 2 B axed
as well as a movement 2 perhaps
look @ kicking Baylor out of the Big 12
or @ least put the entire AD dept
on a "Penn St" type of probation.
That Big 12 invite 4 Houston
just might B tied 2 Baylor 's Self-Implosion."
It would be poetic justice IF Baylor gets expelled from the conference after Ann Richards got them in. She will roll on her grave if that were to happen.

Actually it's more like prosecuting the guy who hired the guy who hired the rapist, literally.

Had they bought a recruit's family member lunch, the NCAA would be all over them, lucky for Baylor this was just rape.

Meanwhile G5 programs get probation and postseason bans for using the wrong color pen on an application....
Baylor should have been burned down with the Branch Davidian Church years ago.
Funny story - my wife loves a show called "Fixer Upper", which is based in Waco. On our way from Dallas to Austin, she wanted to see Waco and possibly stop by the "Fixer Upper" store. I said are you sure, because Waco is a dump.
Sure enough, 5 minutes into town she says "This is it? Ugh. They sure make it look nicer on TV". We didn't even stop for lunch.

Apparently Waco and Lubbock bring $25 million each to the Big12's table and yet AAC programs don't. SMH

Nobody says that Baylor pulls their weight. (At least nobody sane.) It's arguable whether Tech pulls their weight. (I'm agnostic on that--I don't know and I don't care.) The problem for AAC schools thirsty for a Big 12 invite is that the standard isn't "better than Baylor/ISU/Tech/KState." UT and OU already have all the tackling dummies they need. The standard is "better than the overall Big 12 average." Which is why TCU and WVU only got the call when the Big 12 needed schools to fulfill their Fox TV contract.
If the Fox TV contract didn't specify X Big 12 games on Fox (including FS1, FSN, FCS etc), Big 12 would probably be sitting at 8.

RE: The beginning of the end has begun at Baylor
I get the hate that Houston fans in particular have for Baylor... But let's get real for a moment.
Here's what's NOT going to happen:
-Baylor isn't going to get the "Death Penalty" or any other major NCAA penalties for this.
-Baylor isn't going to "get expelled" or "booted" from the Big XII and replaced by Houston.
-SMU or other schools are not going to cancel their upcoming games with Baylor or boycott playing them.
-The Baptists are not going to "disown" or shut-down Baylor University.
-Baylor's recruiting isn't going to "suffer" because of this nor are enraged parents going to stop their kids from going to Baylor.
Let's also be honest and admit:
-Universities have long suppressed criminal allegations and investigations of their star athletes (Hello??? Florida State? Penn State (well before the Sandusky thing)?)
-Universities have long passed star athletes who could not spell their own names. (North Carolina, Florida State, etc...)
-Universities...especially in smaller cities...have colluded with local Police Departments to keep their star athletes out of jail (Nebraska, Florida State, etc...)
-If you are a "Star" athlete you can get away with almost ANYTHING...from Jr. High all the way to the Pros.
-Texas...the whole damn state...is "Football Crazy" and football players are revered.
All this is really nothing new. It's like the SMU situation in that SMU wasn't doing anything really unique...Texas, Texas A&M, and the rest of the SWC were all paying out players...it's just SMU was a Private school and was doing it more visibly than others. You cannot seriously tell me that the situation in College Station is any better or any worse than Waco in this regard. Or Austin for that matter.

Well, until Coach Mullin gets things turned around.....we are.
Seriously, the BE just re-assembled. We don't really have teams that are here who wouldn't be here if you were putting the league together today. (Neither do you guys, for basically the same reason.) St Johns and DePaul are still in NYC and ChiTown, etc.
Saying "UH >> Baylor" only matters if you pretend you were assembling a league today, from scratch. The fact is that Baylor is already in, and they could go 0-12 every year with an empty stadium until the Big XII implodes and they wouldn't get kicked out.
