I've been expecting all of the dragons to die, and either Jon or Dany. GRRM promised a bittersweet ending. I expect the producers to deliver it, no matter how bleak.

It appears that Sansa will survive. Not 100% sure about Arya. Bran's storyline is apparently done. Who kills the Mountain? The Hound, Grey Worm, or Arya? Who else does the Mountain kill?
"All of the dragons" may not mean just Drogon. Go back to S5 Ep5 when Jorah and Tyrion were going though the Valyria ruins and a dragon was flying overhead. Tonight might provide the answer to that loose end.

Pretty sure that was Drogon

If so, Drogon may have been creating a legacy that has time to grow up.

If the writers go that way, it is completely plausible.

You're saying that Drogon layed and hatched an egg somewhere. Interesting reach.

Unless someone finds an egg, I think the last dragon dies. Does Dany die? Something tells me 'no' and that she's prego, or will be after 'consoling' with Snow. Jaimie kills Cersie in a jealous rage. Mountain kills Jaimie. Mountain kills Hound. Grey Worm or Arya kills Mountain. Euron burns. Who does Qyburn sneaky-kill? Who kills Qyburn? Varys? Seems appropriate.

It's an interesting theory. Even I think it may be a slight stretch. But there is at least some basis for it, and the theory or some variation of it is running rampant ahead of tonight's episode.

In a still from the trailer for the episode, Euron looks shocked as he looks skyward. Seeing one dragon should not shock him.

Also clues have been in the show openings. Four dragons are pictured in the opening sequence. Three plus one or one plus three makes four.

Theories busted as usual.

But this isn't a theory. Arya has one last very new name on her list.

I'm looking forward to the documentary special on the 26th almost as much as the finale.

Lots of closure in this episode. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in the case of this mad queen.

So much carnage.

So are we actually supposed to believe that Jaime/Cersei were killed in that rubble? Surely not right??? If so, what a terrible way to write their deaths, of ALL the possibilities...

"And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you."

—Maggy, to Cersei Lannister

Suffocating under the red keep in his arms is an interesting way to choke, and fulfill the prophecy.

SPOILERS

Pretty awesome seeing Gregor dash Qyburn's skull off the stone wall. Killed his creator. In the books Arya was Arya Horseface. Thought of that while she was nose to nose with the horse at the end. Dani's reckless disregard for her own allies while burning the city didn't make much sense to me but the overall effect and terror was pretty well done. Same with the Dothraki riding down anyone and everyone. The fight with Jamie and Euron was unexpected by me. Reasonably satisfying. If I could change a few things, I'd probably have had Jaime die with Euron and then have Gregor pick up Cersei by the neck, after he waxed Qyburn, crush her windpipe and toss her over the side of the keep. Still fulfills the prophecy and would have been a more interesting way to die. Cooler still for the body to land next to Jaime on the beach as he looks over just before death. Then a raven caws nearby. Bran gets some payback for being pushed out a window on her behalf.

The finale better be fantastic because that episode was a giant kick to the dick. I shouldn’t be surprised with what Dany did, but even after the shock wore off, it was unsatisfying. Carnage just for carnage sake. I haven’t been as critical of this season as others have, but that episode last night was just unpleasant.

If only Jon could have boinked his hot aunt again, then none of those civilians in KL would have had to die.

This is a good point. Perhaps Jon is the real villain here, Tyrion was willing to sacrifice himself for a small likelihood Jamie could save the people, Jon wasn't willing to perform an act he had previous done for them.

I'm not sure how people are upset at how things are unfolding. Since Ned got his head cut off, then the red wedding, Cersei using wildfire on her people, is anyone surprised. You shouldn't be.

The question is...who's gonna kill Dany now and HOW? Jon? Arya? Sansa? Yara? Bronn?

C'mon, no...Jon is not the real villain here. If you're Jon you can't possibly think that Dany is going to burn innocent women/children AFTER Cersei has laid down arms. No way Jon isn't the villain.

After all this, I think you're gonna see Jon take all his humble noble self and throw that **** out the window and he's gonna kill Dany.

Dany's on Arya's list. That's where my money lands.

Either that, or Dany slips on an errant Starbucks cup.

Meanwhile, I liked the Homestar Runner version a LOT more.

Maybe. Lets keep in mind---Kings Landing was sacked once before---by Robert Bratheon and Jons guiding light---Ned Stark. I could easily see Jon simply walking away from Kings Landing center of power and opting to stay north as "the Warden of the North" or even walking away from the entire GOT chase by rejoining Ghost and Tormund in "the real North". This is a guy who never wanted any of that stuff and fully expected to be serving on the wall the rest of his life as a Nights Watchman.
