Give me the cast of "Hoosiers" and I'll run all the backdoor cuts and screens you would want. I actually believe either is a legimate offense depending on your players. What is sure to fail (as we have seen time and time again) is to try and make a team something they are not. Other than running some specific isolation plays when we have an obvious offensive mismatch (which it also drives me crazy that we don't do), this is the make up of our team. Please explain if you see a different skill set. Otherwise, you are just talking about the team you wish we had.

The drive and dish probably gets Shaq some easy baskets keeping his shooting % up and should also keep Lawson from handling the ball too much which should limit his turnovers. It also allows for more pop outs to the shooters we supposedly want shooting the 3 (Woodson, Martin, Randell?). Look at that... a couple stats and we have a team offensive identity. The real question is, would this team ever have the self control to do it.
That's not an offensive identity, that how AAU teams and rec league teams play basketball.
Well, in the preseason, Pastner opined that all the guards "need to shoot better" and that their career stats don't really reflect how good a group of shooters they are.
Pastner: ""We need
Ricky to be sort of the same thing as Kedren - great taking care of the ball. He needs to be a really good shooter for us. I think he's a better shooter than his career 3-point percentage (32.5). He's really shot better from 3 than he's shown in his past based on his percentages from his summer with us. "
Today: Ricky is shooting 31.3% for the season.
Markel:""We need Markel to be a stat-sheet stuffer. He needs to be a guy - and he's very capable of doing this - that's multidimensional with points, assists, rebounds and steals. I don't think there's one thing where you can say, 'This is him.' I think there's just a multitude of things that he can do. He can be a great defender for us, but he can also be a guy that can get double-doubles and in (some) games triple-doubles.
We've gotta be good in 3-point shooting percentage. We gotta be better on our free-throw percentage, but we definitely have to be better shooting the 3-point shot, and that's including Markel. That doesn't mean you have to take more 3s. That just means the efficiency has to be better
Today: Markel has had one game in which he went for 13 and 9. He had a 9 and 7 and 8 and 7, too. His closest triple double was an 8/4/4. He's 0-15 for the season in threes.
Burrell: ""We're gonna need TB to be able to generate offense for us. He's gotta become a more consistent 3-point shooter. "
To his credit, Burrell has raised his 3pt% from 29% to 31%
Woodson: "Avery's very capable of being around 45 percent from 3-point range. "
Avery is shooting a very respectable 41% from three.
