Didn't throw anyone under the bus. He and Dedric insist they played awesome defense, Houston just couldn't be stopped . . . HOUSTON . . . 98 points!
Same UH team which defeated SMU on this same court and is #2 scoring team in AAC averaging almost 80 points per game.
Do you ever research anything or do you just pull things out of your ass?
Big difference between 98 and 80. Especially when they got 58 of 98 in second half because our coach can't or won't teach defense.
Facts are irrelevant to some people, well this guy anyway. We are at the lowest level since Johnny Jones.
Johnny Jones took over after they fired Tic Price. The season was already a lost cause. So the facts are we were at our lowest level since Tic Price.
Many forget that Johnny won last 5 games or so and was under consideration for job. Thank our stars that didn't happen. I told an LSU friend of mine last year Ole Miss FB and LSU BB will be on probation in 2 years.

Sometimes I wonder if he's really trying and his reactions are being tamped down, or he's not really that involved with the outcome. I remember when he would get all bent and not be able to sleep after a loss.

I would be willing to abstain for 3 months if this were really true.
Well, maybe 2 months.
Or maybe a couple of days.
Never mind. Neither one is happening.

They were going through Pollard on every possession for a stretch. After about 10 straight points, Pastner put Markel on him, which worked until Pollard posted him up. I guess he forgot to tell the bigs to come help. Shaq actually helped once and we stopped them that possesion.
My question is: How can a simpleton youth coach like myself pick this stuff up so easily and our millionaire head coach cannot?

I would guess that Pastner sees it, but he either sees it too late, or he has trouble getting his players to conform to the changes at the moment they're needed. I suspect that his players have tended to tune him out from time to time over the past few years, which is why he ended up calling plays with the giant cards. Maybe it's a little of both, which is the kiss of death when you have kids playing in such a competitive sport.
I think Cal had this problem, too, but his personality is so big, and he's so relentless, that he just refuses to be ignored. Maybe that's where Pastner learned it.
Just a guess.

Do you really have to tell your guys, who are supposed to know basketball, to help out? And did NONE of our other coaches not know to tell them to step out and help? Yes, JP should look them in the face and tell them "HELP OUT". But dang the guys have to know this basic crap.

While I would never want Tic back nor would I ever say he's a good coach, the guy is 192-156 overall at 4 jobs, but we all know there were underlying issues with him at Memphis.
Somehow he got both New Orleans and McNeese State to the NCAA Tournament as well.
Like I said, there's nothing special about his abilities, but one of his main problems on the court was handling personalities and trying dumb crap - he couldn't keep Detric Golden, Dinno Daniels or Snap Hunter in school and he tried Omar Sneed at SF for about a month in his second year.
He really should've been better than he was at Memphis but hindsight tells us there were many reasons for that.
In his second year, his depth chart should've looked like this:
Ousley/Wise/James Harris
Sneed/Shamel Jones/Paris London
Hunter
Moody/Keiron Shine
Detric/Daniels
