UCONN's next 4 games: @ Temple, vs Tulsa, vs SMU, @ Cincinnati
Tough stretch.
That's 4 possible wins AND 4 possible losses.
For sure. I'm just glad we have Brimah back. While he isn't an offensive juggernaut, he definitely has a presence on defense. The Huskies play/gel better when he is on the court.
This league is beating up each other
This league (with the notable exception of SMU) beat up on noone in the non-conference, then beat up on each other. That's been the problem this year.
Temple beat absolutely noone with a pulse in the non-conference, then came in swinging. They are clearly a good team, but they owe the conference a win against Nova.
Tulsa got a nice win against Wichita St, but lost to Farleigh Dickinson, and was extremely inconsistent through the rest of their slate.
UConn held serve for the most part, but was a bit inconsistent as well. Beating either Cuse or Gonzaga would have made a big difference for them. They have the best OOC resume (non-SMU division) by far.
UC nailed VCU on the road and got GW at a neutral site, but threw away 2 really good opportunities by shooting themselves in the foot at the end of games, meaning their OOC resume is just meh.
Houston didn't play hardly anybody, and Memphis has Pastner, and SMU got banned.
Add it all up, and you have a conference that is struggling to find teams to be able to enter in the NCAA tournament and certainly none that are poised to get a high seed.
