This. Most of our offensive power will still be guys that were recruited to play FCS ball.
This class will not make a major impact until 2017-2018

Yes, can't read too much into today's signees until they have a couple years under their belt. By that time we'll have a better idea how the class will contribute to our respective teams.

Fair assessment of UL. Especially given the very crappy season, and having had the NCAA issue hovering over us during the process.

Their conclusions are based on 24-7 ratings, so I put no faith in it.

FYI- The class rankings on 247 aren't final. Over the next few days the 247 staff will be going through all lists and rating any player that doesn't have a 247 grade.

24-7 with transfers thrown in. stAte and GS were both ranked with their FBS transfers as part of the class. The 247 rankings don't count those players.

I'm not saying our recruiting class is top tier, but I definitely think it is better than most people think it is. But, it definitely is our best recruiting class, now these kids just have to buy in to what this senior class established.

The recruiting process is the biggest joke in the NCAA.

So they should do a school yard pick or draw names?

I heard a little mention of yall's class this morning on 92.9, they even played a clip of CTM talking about the class. I haven't heard our recruiting be talked about at all on there yet, so that's nice pub for you guys.

RE: SBC NSD Class Rankings
That was an excellent article about this years recruiting,
As far as 247, IMO here is a better way of ranking a class based on the average player ranking:
Arkansas State-----------79.33
Georgia Southern--------78.74
Troy-----------------------78.57
South Alabama-----------78.39
Texas State--------------78.14
Louisiana-Lafayette------77.56
Appalachian State-------77.47
Louisiana-Monroe-------76.12
Georgia State-----------75.61
New Mexico State------75.57
Idaho--------------------75.33
The above rankings, and they will be changing over the next few weeks, do not include A-States high profile transfers, or another transfer who are already on campus, so I expect there would be a greater separation if they were included.
Another plus for A-State is almost all of their highly rated newbies are already on campus. That is not the case with several of these classes, and we will have to wait and just see how real they are.
One other plus for A-State is based on rankings, they have their best group of red-shirts ever to throw into the mix. Not a bad situation when they return most of the players who contributed to their championship run this past year.

according to the dallas morning news list of signings, not one of the texas top 100 signed with a sbc school..not a good sign.

RE: SBC NSD Class Rankings
Little FYI for A-State fans, you are about to experience the biggest influx of talent in the history of your program in 2016, and it will be a game changer.
You got a small taste this year when your coaches brought in some' free agents' to help get this years team over the hump in conference play, but it does not even began to prepare you for what they have brought in for next year.
On top of that, and lost in most of the discussions about the newbies is the fact your coaches were able to red-shirt most of one of the best classes in recent memory, many who could have played, and probably started as trues for any other SBC team.

Transfers typically aren't added in these figures. You can't add players with values from different years because you are looking at different bell curves. We have a 4* LB being added to the roster this year, but adding him to our current total is incorrect.

We've got five unrated guys dragging our average down, two or three of which will be .80+ 3 stars. If you just take the average of the guys currently rated, our average is 80.72.
We also have a very highly rated transfer that doesn't count for our class that would highly impact our average.
We also red-shirted a bunch of our guys from a great class last year.
