AState beats USA in Overtime 79-73. We continue our mastery of their basketball program of late.

Red Wolves win in OT, 79-73. We got called for fouls and put them at the line too much in OT and they took advantage and won the game.

Really good 2nd half at home vs UTA tonight. We lost by 20 in Texas a month ago and won by 9 at home tonight. We are improving and I know UTA lost their best player.
I can say now if it ended today at 5-6 we would make the tourney.
Next up Texas St at home Sat

This is still a young Eagle squad that will hit road bumps, but I haven't seen a team outside of Little Rock or ULL that would beat the GS team that played the second half tonight.

Cajuns were the only road team to win tonight.

Cut a 20-point second-half deficit down to 4, but couldn't get over the hump. Eaves had the shots to make it one-possession, but were way off. He's in a slump, no threes in the last two games. Fighting back against a dominant post presence and so many fouls was good to see, but still, just not there yet.

They are such a wonderful program, no matter how bad we can be, no matter how few players we can play, we can always count on beating South Alabama.

No, thats an excuse at this point. I dont want to sell Georgia Southern short, but even without Hervey, we should still easily beat the Eagles.
Tho season has quickly gone from being one of our best to typical UTA basketball.

I can't even try to explain what is going on with the team. I get the feeling the team has given up a bit. Defense has been nonexistent in each of these losses. The hustling and diving for balls in those big non-conferece wins seems like a distant memory.

there must be stuff going on that the rest of us dont see. the mavs were able to blow out a good stAte team without hervey so what happened after that game. they all of a sudden play no defense. last night gaso was able to shoot 3's every time down the court and made a bunch of them. games like this should be gimmies for a school that is focused on the oly sports.

I'll admit UTA is falling apart, but GS is also doing what I thought they would because we are the youngest team in America. It was going to take half a season for us to start to gel. It's happening just at the right time I think.

If Little Rock ends conference with less than 3 losses and makes at least the conference semis I think they make the tourney no matter what.

They aren't even on the NCAA radar right now.
And, concerning UTA, there's no way losing Hervey can be termed an excuse. He was in line to get POY votes, if not, win it.
And, UTA has been on the road for the last three losses. The road is a bee-yotch in college basketball.
In the last fifteen league games, the home team is 12-3.

In a rebuilding year for GS I would be elated with a .500 season. I don't know if we will get there but I like how our team is starting to come together.

After the way we played against Ark St the night he got hurt I thought we would be alright. But since then we've looked very suspect, mainly on defense. Hoping they can snag at least 1 of the last 2 games in this 5 game road trip so we can coast through the 5 game home stand.

well, they were on the road when they beat ohio state, memphis, utep and rice. I dont mean to dis gaso, they are getting it together while we are headed the other way. I really mean that it is bothersome that we dont excel in the few sports we do have.
