More Ito!

that young man is special.....

monk was finally starting to allow him to display his recieving talent towards the end of the season....

get him the ball in 'space'???? it's gonna take more than a few to get their hands on him to bring him down....

IMO, dejarnette or fletch couldn't touch this kid in that talent dept....

Dont forget George Payne will be back and Tez parks was redshirted. Tez is quicker than ito

Faster...not quicker, there's a difference.

XACLY!

his ability to stop and go is one of those that can't be measured....

I only hope Hop sees what we see....that young man has developed into Ladainian Tomlinson potentiality....he also reminds me of sproles/faulk

the guy can make you miss.....I want to call plays that involve 'that guy'

Tez and Ito should run all over defenses this coming season.

I remember Tez being very fast, but that he tended to run right into tackles, whereas Ito runs away from the tackles. Vision is HUGE in a RB.

Indeed. Tez is the most physically gifted of them all. Ito the most versatile. Ito is one of those Tracy Lampley guys that you NEED to find ways to put the ball in his hands no matter the situation.

I turn tez into a slot receiver to relieve Ito....payne's the bruiser back with Ito filling in for him in relief...

Last year, there was a weird story with a player saying he signed with Memphis, but really didn't...had pics of ceremony, papers, wearing a hat...the whole nine. Saw were he signed with Georgia State this year. Good to see.

Perferred walk on means just that. They dont sign anything.
After having seen this happen first hand they "sign" at the group setting usually at their school. Kind of like a participation trophy.

My sons best friend signed a blank sheet of paper in a folder but later got a s/s offer to arkie state that he really signed.

Thanks for the info. I'm still learning and see a bunch of these players post pics on Twitter. The player I was thinking of posted a pic similar to the one in this thread and was rumored as a walk on...CB from Olive Branch, MS.

ETA: Well crud, that's what I get for not checking the recruiting board. According to a VOL poster, Sanchez Blake is rehabbing from an injury and may have gotten caught up in a numbers game when they got an 11th hour commit from Louisianna. Sorry for any confusion. TTT!

Sometimes Preferred Walk-ons get papers to sign, though they don't bind the school or the player. It's basically so the kid can have the thrill of a signing ceremony. If the school wants him but doesn't have room for him it's a way to soften the blow and still give the kid bragging rights.

Jay Hopson's new staff members starting to posibly take place. It's being reported that he is bringing his DC from Alcorn St. Also just saw where former Prairie View HC Willie Simmons is joining our staff

These are being reported and NOT confirmed at this point

I'd like to keep Duggan. He hasn't been great, but he's generally been good enough to win in CUSA.

The DC from Alcorn coaches linebackers so unless some shifting is done Duggan could be done. I would like to keep him as well but it's not looking good.

RE: Southern Miss names Jay Hopson head football coach
Per football scoop the Prairie View coach was the OC at Alcorn for Hopson before taking the PV job so that makes me wonder if our current OC is safe. They are reporting that asst HC Jon Williams who was in charge of player personnel has been let go along with player development/recruiting director Dayne Brown. Added to that list is DL coach Justin Roberts. The AHC Williams had been the head coach of a MS JC but left that job to come here under Monken. Some of the dismissals doesn't surprise me as I have mentioned before that Monken only had 8 on the field assistant coaches and had turned the 9th one into an off the field.

Duggan is in the interview process now while Wozniak (OC) and Meadows (OL) will interview this afternoon

Looking like a lot of new faces on the coaching staff. I feel for those assistants that are losing their jobs, but don't blame Hopson. The blame falls on the guy in Tampa Bay.

I pray that they don't fork with the defense. that can turn to sh*t quicker than lightning. and I soooooo enjoyed watching LFed score 50 points a games, yet still lose.

Did you prefer the years of Bower where we gave up 21 and still lost?

Mediocrity on either side of the ball is just as bad.

How about the time we scored 3 and still won? I actually sat through that one and thought it was pretty exciting. Didn't make me optimistic about the rest of that season, though.

USM beat writer Munz had tweeted this as well and one Prairie View player tweeted back "don't believe everything you hear" and another player replied with "you funny my head coach bout to win a ring with us" so needless to say this might not be as sure thing as 1 of the sides seems to think
