The entire ECU UH series should be on TV Championship rematch between the 2 best teams. One game separated them in the regular season last year, the Tournament came down to them. Who ever wins this one will have a huge advantage the rest of the way.

No real reason all the games cant be covered between the 3 platforms at our disposal (CBS-Sports, ESPN-3, and the AAC Digital Network).

I don't think we have a baseball contract with espn. They do SEC, so they're filled up from that, and they cherry pick certain games so they aren't looking for content

ESPN owns the rights to all AAC content, but there are no minimum levels of exposure dictated for baseball beyond broadcasting the AAC baseball championship tournament. I assume any games ESPN opts not to broadcast or sell revert to the AAC or individual school.

Very nice thread, Dowdy.
despite troll savacool doing his best to ruin it.
American figures to have another strong season. Hopefully we'll get 5+ in this year.

ESPN doesn't broadcast the tournament...
From the article at top of the thread
Quote:The schedule, as part of The American’s multi-year agreement with CBS Sports Network
From ESPN-AAC contract press release
Quote:The American Athletic Conference has entered into a multiyear, wide-ranging television contract with ESPN to telecast its football, basketball and Olympic sports. The contract will run through 2019-20.
I wouldn't think baseball would be included within Olympic Sports but idk
Here you go, knew I remembered it, but couldn't find it

Baseball is an Olympic sport. If I remember correctly the entire tournament is televised. ESPN subliscensed the opening round to CBS-Sports. The championship game was on ESPN-U last year.
If I remember correctly the original press release for the announcement of the contract indicated that the entire men and women's basketball tournament would be televised. Im certain it required the baseball championship to be televised. I thought the entire baseball tournament was required to be televised---but.could be wrong on that. I know the championship game is required by the contract to be televised. If you can find the original AAC press release (we were still the Big East then) you will see it in the bullet points. Below is a Wikipedia recap of last years baseball tournament that shows the championship game on ESPN-U and the ESPN press release indicates that baseball rights are included in the agreement. I can't find the old Big East release that was much more detailed with respect to exposure.

Im not arguing that they want them---Im just telling you that ESPN owns the rights. They can sublicense rights to anyone they wish---and if the rights are not sold, they either fall to the conference or school. The point being, that the AAC digital network could show any and every game ESPN doesn't show. Thus, a mix of ESPN, sub networks, and AAC digital could provide coverage of every game if there was a desire to do so. I'd be elated to see 5-10 on ESPN-3, 20-30 on the digital network and 10 or so on CBS-Sports. But we cant control that---what we can control is putting 20-30 on the AAC digital network. There is no good reason that isn't being done. Its not expensive and booth crews already do the sound for radio broadcasts. So, you just need camera crews, and most baseball members already provide some sort of video stream. Upgrade the camera crews to 3 cameras (hell, it could be student Radio-TV majors) and produce a very basic stream that's much better than the current one or two camera productions we get from the individual school Learfield./IMG sites.

Just need UCF baseball to complete the "triumvarent of suck". I have zero faith in Coach Looney. We might start off strong till he gets a hold of the pitching rotation, and the team will invariably sh!t the bed. Man, I hope Danny White (New AD) replaces him quick.

I don't think I saw this posted, but UC's first game of the season at LSU will be on the SEC Network+ (which I guess is also WatchESPN) on Friday at 8 pm.
Nothing like starting off with an easy one.
