:)
We should all see the humor in that response. Was that a Shere Kahn started thread?

Yes. The attacks were especially vicious last year, and it wasn't just Memphis fans sh*tting on us. Tulane, Tulsa, Temple, ECU, UCF and most viciously Cincy fans took their turns. Gleefully, I might add. Only USF, Navy (who weren't in conference yet) and SMU were restrained in their kicking, if they did any at all.
Again, it's infortunate that some posters can't distinguish between those fans that trash talk and those that don't.
It wasn't just the trolls that were piling on, it was the other more reasoned posters taking their shots. Now, on the off-chance Memphis plummets to pre-Paxton levels, you (generally speaking) want to dictate what can and can't be said? Unacceptable, IMO.
Dictate what can and can't be said? No, not at all. Just be prepared to be appropriately exposed or corrected if it's inappropriate or incorrect through respectful, civil, G-rated responses that rational, intelligent folks utilize.
Hopefully our administration now has the commitment, resolve, and community support to minimize the lowest performance levels of the past. There are no guarantees that the best of the best of us don't dip below par at times like Mr O'Leary's crew.
Right. Nobody is dictating what anybody else can say. We are just disagreeing with the opinion. It's a message board.

LOL. I'll wake up SK and get him to post one. Let's hope it doesn't fall to UCF levels. I think when he posted that thread, UCF was 0-1, IIRC, and it was a jab at some of the pre-season jibber-jabbers talking 3-peat.

That seems dumb to me. It makes much more sense that we all become stronger, beat the crap out of our OOC opponents, and keep taking the Access slot, and winning that game, too.
If a lot of us become strong, that makes the winner of the conference even more likely to take the Access slot, or even eventually get a shot at the CFPs.
Who wants to play in a conference where everybody else is crappy? We did that for way too long in basketball.
Well Memphis fans (not saying you unless you did) took extra special glee kicking us when UCONN was sucking the "meat missile". So your umbrage is misplaced, IMO.

I doubt many Temple fans took shots at UConn. Only reason I can think of is that some UConn fans come across as smug with a superiority complex attitude towards Temple, similar to that of Rutgers. That's when you get the comments like "Our football program has fallen so far that we're losing to TEMPLE, can you believe that?! TEMPLE!!"

We won't be as good w/o Lynch and Fuente, but we won't go from 9 wins to 1 or 2 wins. Is it physically possible? Sure, UCF just did it. Is it probable? Not much. We had 50 scholarship players the year before Lynch started. We now have 85, less seniors and before recruits.
We have a whole team full of better players, including 14 returning starters (as of now), and the great majority of our two-deep. We will have a new DC and probably a better D.
No Memphis fan is going to claim we'll be the same, but most of us think we'll win 6 or 7 games, and go bowling.
Would you prefer I said pre-Porter levels? It doesn't matter what coach and/or player you choose, my point still stands. You DO NOT get to dictate what an opposing fanbase can, or can't, say. I didn't when UCONN was being kicked by the other fans (trolls & non-trolls) in this conference last year, and I won't do it now.
Damn Dude, lighten up. You're saying the same thing over and over.
When I get attacked for making an innocuous point, I'M supposed to lighten up? Get your fellow Memphis fans to lighten up and then I'll think about taking your advice under advisement.
Man, you're taking this chit way too serious and way too personal. Sounds like you're about to have a nervous breakdown over what's said on a damn message board.
