The whole thing smacks of ineptness and-or just not giving a rat's rear about the program.

Yup. Guy is lost at how to do his job.

I liked Bailiff's qualities, but didn't like his coaching.

Everyone knew darn good and well that it was time for Fran to go, even Fran knew it. The thing to have done would be to have to had the agreement worked out with Fran no later tan game 7 and then right before the season ends or immediately after make the announcement. "Unofficial official" contacts with potential candidates could have already been in the works to give everyone a heads-up as to the opening.

Now, as a poster said earlier, during the dead period and after virtually every open position has found its candidate, Teis will begin a coaching search.01-wingedeagle

An extreme level of anger at the program and not wanting to be a spoil sport to those enjoying better fortunes.

In short? I was a bitter bitter man.

I wonder how long he has known that he was going to retire. is a pretty crappy move to just now decide it, or just now announce it if he has known for a while.

According to our beat writer, he told our AD last Tuesday. Our AD told him to think on it over the weekend.

According to a guy on twitter (because you know how reliable those sources are), we were talking to potential replacements back after the last game.

RE: Congratulations Texas State!
I'm not the guy on twitter and I'm not much more reliable but a friend of mine that coaches college football told me a few weeks ago that he had been contacted about the "opening at Texas State". This was the day after the NMSU game.

So it seems like they have been preparing for this for a while but why wait until December 22nd for an announcement.
