RE: Access Bowl Spot
Even if Navy wins the AAC, they probably won't select the GO5 team for the Access Bowl until AFTER the Army-Navy game on 12/12. Because even if Navy wins the AAC, if they lose vs. Army, I could see them taking UT if we win the MAC. That will throw a huge kink in bowl selections.

I know. But they will have to wait, just in case.

I don't see how they can do that? Are they going to hold the rest of the bowls hostage, trickle down effect? If Navy wins the AAC, they should get the Access slot.

Why? If they lose to Army, UT could jump them.

As much as I hate to say it, Navy will curb stomp Army by at least 3 TD's.

The pollsters doing that unfortunately is probably a longer shot than Army actually beating Navy but one can hope it works out to UT's favor.
I can't recall a season with more on the line games but for now, we are 0-1 in those games.
In the positive, when is the last time the last game mattered for anything other than style points? Good luck, especially to the Seniors!

While I don't disagree, I highly doubt they would select Navy before the Army game.

That is F'ed up, unless they make arrangements with 2 bowls games (1 being the Access Bowl) and say you get Navy or Toledo (or whomever) and the other game gets the other. But being that they are from 2 different conferences will make it more difficult.
Bowl games start 1 week after Army Navy.

RE: Access Bowl Spot
i read earlier that if Navy is the probable G5 access bowl team after conf championship week that they will wait until after the army navy game to determine the selection. the thing is navy has a contractual agreement with the military bowl to play there against an acc team if they don't get the access bowl slot. maybe that means toledo could be the alternate team there. it will be tricky.
if navy and toledo win out, the rockets become a pretty big draw to bowls that don't already have 2 decent P5 teams in place. there's only a few of those, but the rockets and the mac may maneuver us into a game against a name P5 team in a lesser bowl like the independence as opposed to a mac tie in bowl like the go daddy or bahamas.
