After BG crushes us with their aerial attack at home we can officially bury this thread. Even if we win out there's no guarantee that we even go to our own conference championship game. We **** the bed against NIU and that ruined our dream season. End of story.

Houston comes back and will win this one.

Basically what has to happen is Toledo win out with wmu beating Niu allowing Toledo to get to conf title game. Temple wins AAC with 2 losses.

Exactly and Temple will be facing either a zero loss Houston team or a one lone Navy team in the AAC championship. It is still a very long shot for the Rockets making it, but the odds do look a bit better tonight than they looked yesterday. Too bad Iowa State blew a 2 TD lead in the 4th quarter against # 8 undefeated OK State tonight.

Even if a 2 loss Temple team somehow manages to win the AAC championship game and UT does manage to win the MAC championship game UT will probably still need to be a one loss team not a two loss team or a 2 loss Temple might still get the nod. Remember Boise State is sort of back in the race again as well.

USF can still win the AAC East. They have the tie breaker over Temple
need to beat UCinn and UCF. Temple has Memphis and UConn remaining. Houston-@UConn and Navy. Navy-@Tulsa, @Houston, and Army.

Navy with 1 loss, or Houston with 0 losses will be in the title game against either.... 2/3 loss Temple, or 4 loss USF. If one of the teams in that East wins the AACG the door is opened to Toledo, BG, and Boise State.

At the moment late in the first half Boise State is trailing New Mexico by a score of 14-3. Of course as the UT vs UMass game illustrated, things can sometimes change in the 2nd half of a game. A loss for Boise would be their third loss and close the door on their chances if it is not closed on them already.

Just because you think we suck since we're 8-1, doesn't mean we have no chance to the access bowl. Yes, the odds are not in our favor, but it is still a possibility. Remember, NO ONE thought NIU had a shot at a BC$ bowl a few years ago, but then EVERYTHING fell into place the last few weeks of the season.

I don't think we suck. We'll have a nice season, and play in a bowl game. But it won't be on New Year's Day. I was hoping after we ran our OOC undefeated that we would run the table and have a truly memorable season and end up in a New Year's Bowl. Unfortunately, we crapped the bed against NIU. And there's zero chance we play in a BCS bowl. That's just how it is. And UTfans, maybe you should worry more about your UT friends sporting OSU or UM gear on the weekends.

Even an undefeated Toledo team would have had a small probability of ranking higher than the American Athletic conference champion.
A conference with 4 ranked teams unfortunately is regarded as a far stronger SOS(strength of schedule) than a conference with Toledo being the only ranked team.
Had BGSU been undefeated and NIU beat BU and CMU than a perfect Toledo would have stood a reasonable chance.
If the AAC champion is ranked lower than Toledo, then Toledo has a chance.
It is unfair that an undefeated MAC team with a ranked SEC win had very little chance of getting a New year Bowl or even a medium size Bowl.
The year NIU made the Orange Bowl, the MAC East champion was ranked.

We can beatch at each other for three weeks over the possibilities and probabilities of getting access or just wait for it to play out. Hmmm, which will we choose. lol

9-4 is a nice season. Rockets have only had two 1 loss seasons since 1962
(1967, 2001) and three 2 loss(1983, 1990, 2001).
