Frankly, I wouldn't want him at Southern. He reduces talent not raises talent.

I don't see Kirby Smart as the answer if that is who they pick. We could see the return to their pre Richt mediocrity which would be good for GS.

Richt isn't coming to Statesboro. Anyone who says that is joking or just being silly.

He's a great man and coach that's for sure but with all the resources he had at UGA he was never able to win games that mattered. That's what got him fired.

Georgia Southern will always look for and need coaches that can do more with less. It's the most important legacy Erk left.

App runs a spread offense that wins much in the way that a pro-style offense wins. You are able to pick-up positive yards, keep in 3rd and manageable, and grind out long drives. The style of offense isn't what is bad, it's just the way you play that is required to pull out a win.

A great running game with a complementary passing game is a defenses best friend. (see Carolina Panthers 2013-2015, when the spawn of the Great Shula finally figured out that letting a spread QB be a spread QB is the way to go.) They are extremely similar to App offensively and the way the defense wins is also similar.

Georgia Southern will run you out of the stadium, but in a tight game, it is a disadvantage to not be able to throw the ball. (See Minnesota) Southern could use a little bit of passing game. You may have beaten Georgia if that had been possible.

A lot of the question of Fritz leaving has to do with how bad he wants out of Statesboro. I've heard some speculate that he is angry that GS won 9 games, but still finished 3rd in a lower tier league, but 9 wins finishes 3rd in every league in the country, so that makes no sense.

Does any FBS team that's not at the very top of the food chain of college football (e.g. Alabama) run a pro-style offense and win? I can't think of any.
