RE: Houston vs Memphis discussion
I don't even know lol. I have had Houston #1 in my rankings for a long time. I think it depends on if Memphis comes out fired up. They have been lack luster on the field the last few weeks and all season we have been starting slow.
Against Navy we played right into their hands. We didn't play the triple option well at all. Then we stopped doing what was working on offense. I'm still confused by that game. We didn't even look like ourselves.
Maybe that woke the team up. They slept walked the first half against Tulane too. We'll see what happens. Memphis got humbled BIG TIME against Navy and hopefully it fired them up. I know it would fire me up.
Houston may just be too much this season though. We do have the offense to play with anyone, but Herman ISN'T dumb. He saw what Tulane was able to do for 3 QTR's by slowing the game down, and he saw what NAVY did. Unless our defense gets it together, it could be more of the same.
The secret is out and it's been out.
Wear the Memphis defense down, keep the Memphis offense off the field.
Pretty simple.
Defense is the key to every game moving forward. If they don't play well and can't keep the opposing offense from keeping our offense off the field, it'll be tough sledding against both Temple and Houston.

I'd imagine that will be the game plan but we have focused heavily on getting as many snaps as possible. But as Herman has said he wants quality snaps not just snaps to have them (AKA Baylor).

To be fair though, we did have like an 8 minute drive this season once, and I don't think I've ever seen that before from us.

shere khan is just being a tool. His team is below Houston and he needs anything he can grab at to make his balls feel bigger.

You damn well can't say either team is below the other at this point. Both top 25, both have their bright spots, both have had a hell of a year. Plain ignorant statement.
It's newbies like this, who come out of the wood works during a winning season and say stupid ****, that ignites fires. Yes, we have some of those on our side, too, and should let natural selection take it's course. Good luck, buddy, on the minimum wage increase at McDonalds.

Budding rivalry?
Fwiw, my head gives UH the edge due to the home game, but it could go either way....
QB-Memphis
RB-UH
OLine-Memphis
WR-MEM
DL-push
LB-UH
DB-UH by a large margin
Fairly evenly matched so home field could play a large part

I completely agree with your sentiments. That being said, I think that he meant y'all have a conference loss and we don't. Which technically means we are above you.

I agree, it's too close to call with any certainty. I think our DLine is better than you think. Check out the rushing stats. But this game seriously will be a fun one to watch. I was just as uncertain as with the Cinci game. And while I'm uncertain, I'm still confident cause I know Herman will do everything possible, and if we get beat, I think we'll get beat fair and square and there was nothing we coulda done better until we have more talent.
