OT: CUSA Mascots on CMAs
Fun Fact: The mascots Seymour D'Campus from Southern Miss and Marco from Marshall will be among multiple other mascots on the Country Music Awards during Brad Paisley's performance of "Country Nation".

I have no idea your mascot was named Seymour D'Campus. That is excellent.

As you can assume, it most definitely was done on purpose.
"In 1972, an ad hoc committee appointed by the Alumni Association voted on submissions from alumni, faculty, students, and staff for a new name, and the name "Golden Eagles" was chosen. The mascot was an individual in a golden eagle costume. The mascot was later named Seymour d'Campus (a pun on "see more [of] the campus"). The name was inspired by the 1984 World's Fair mascot, Seymore D. Fair (a pun on "see more [of] the Fair"), who was played by former Southern Miss mascot Jeff Davis '83."

Not really sure you'd call his music country... Also isn't there a video from a Birmingham news station on his music in 2007 that shows him getting lit up by a So. Miss linebacker?

not sure you understand music. there a many types of rock, jazz, blues and country. music is constantly evolving. Buddy Holley & Nine Inch Nails don't sound anything alike but both are Rock N Roll

Sorry, but acts like Sam Hunt, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan etc. are what's wrong with (mainstream) country music.

What's wrong with country music is that I have never heard of these people.

Be glad. Imagine N'Sync with twang.

There are "traditional" country voices/artists out there, however radio doesn't play them and that is still how most new country music artist is discovered by fans/consumer of music.

you can't help but have country pop rammed down your throat being this close to Nashville but there are some pretty good 'old style' artists out there. sturgill simpson is pretty good and i know jamey johnson gets some ink.
Nashville country pop music is a machine. Last year Fla Ga line played in BG and I honestly had never heard a song of theirs. I figured they must be decent because of the way the local lemmings were acting about them being in BG. So I looked up a couple of videos. They were terrible. The people that like this shitt are the same people that danced the macarena. Freaking lemmings.

Love some Sturgill and Jamey. There are some pretty good 'Texas Country' acts too. Randy Rogers Band, Reckless Kelly, Wade Bowen, Turnpike Troubadours, Cory Morrow, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Aaron Watson.

I'm glad to see that there are other country music fans that understand what happened to country music.
Josh Turner should have been there, but he is too traditional.
SavingCountryMusic.com is an informational website about how country music has been hijacked. Check it out.
Love the Aaron Watson mention.

IMHO, country music is the most annoying genre ever. Whenever I hear it, I immediately leave where I am/change the station.
It's not that the singers are not talented...They certainly are. A friend I graduated with has actually written songs for (I believe) Ryan White and others and another one is pretty big in Nashville (Marcum Stewart and Rick Huckabay...yes, Coach's son) It's just not my thing.
