Because it worked so well having Nova in the conference the first time? I'd rather this year's Nova/UCONN game be be a death-match, with the loser going to the Big Priest for the right to play on the Speed Channel.

RE: How about Nova hiring a football oriented AD?
they almost joined the AAC as a football member and probably would have been on our side of the divide if the c7 split had waited 3 years

theyd in a heart beat jump on a aac football only invite (we'd never offer them that) and unfortunately the mac isnt doing that anymore ..but they do want to join the fbs

I honestly wouldn't be opposed. The bottom of this league in football is already horse sh&^. We might as well get the good basketball program.

I'd be happy to have them if they built a stadium. Nova v Temple would be a sweet rivalry for the league.

I don't see any correlation between the hire and moving up to FBS. A couple years ago Georgia Tech hired Mike Bobinski from Xavier University (do not have football). It didn't mean Tech was looking to drop the football program.

Villanova is happier with their peers in the Big East than they'd be in any FBS conference except the ACC.

RE: How about Nova hiring a football oriented AD?
They'd love to jump from right where they are to the ACC. They have no intention to build an OCS. Radnor township would never allow them to build an OCS for the AAC, let alone the ACC. They are having difficulty with the parking garages and basketball arena now.

And then there is the attendance and funding issues. Nova claims attendance of 9K per game, but in reality, outside of the regional Delaware and Temple games, it's usually between 5K and 6K. Add "Cost of Attendance" into the mix to a private school the size of Nova makes the AAC and ACC a tough leap.

Yes, as you would guess, I'm against adding Nova for other reasons too, but there are better candidates for the AAC than Nova that would help the AAC grow our market reach and TV contract.

Yes, if they built a stadium they'd be a good add. Until they do, adding Villanova makes as much sense as adding Duquesne.

Makes me wonder why there was never a build your own stadium for an existing program feature in EA's NCAA Football series. (It may have changed since it moved up to the PS3, maybe even the PS4 before EA nixed the series.) I would've definitely given quite a few programs new stadiums.

Just curious...why UMASS for just the Olympic sports? UMASS could already knock off some of our so called "bottom dwellers" in football.

LOL... The odds are a million-to-one against. But even if it ever does happen, Temple couldn't avoid it by helping V get into the American.

Assuming 16 is the magic number, who would you drop in favor of UMass football?

UMass and/or Villanova could help the AAC land Army. With Army on board, there would be a shot at AFA and the military trifecta and the western division - which I really like.
    Football North
  • UConn
  • Temple
  • Army
  • UMass
  • Villanova
(weak division, but good for Army's program)
    Football South
  • UCF
  • USF
  • Memphis
  • ECU
  • Cincinnati
    Football Central
  • Navy
  • SMU
  • Houston
  • Tulane
  • Tulsa
    Football West
  • AFA
  • BYU
  • Boise
  • SDSU
  • CSU/Fresno/UNLV

8 games(4 in, 4 out - Army-Navy-AFA in cross-division), conference semifinal (or highest ranked 2)
    Basketball East
  • UConn
  • Temple
  • Villanova
  • UMass
  • Cincinnati
  • ECU
    Basketball South
  • Tulane
  • SMU
  • Houston
  • Memphis
  • UCF
  • USF
    Basketball West
  • Tulsa
  • AFA
  • BYU
  • Boise
  • SDSU
  • CSU/Fresno/UNLV

18-game bball schedule, 10 in (h-h x 5) 8 out, rotating through 12 others.

3 of top-4 conf. tournament seeds to division winners; tournament venue rotate among Northeast, South, Plains, and West venues - NYC/Philly, Atlanta/Orlando, Dallas/OKC, and Las Vegas/Los Angeles.

PPL Park will suffice for the first few years. Then they could pay to have it expanded to seat 30k.
