There is no if with their fanbase. They've already proven they can do things no other school can in football as far as getting fans out with very minior success, and they still have solid basketball and overall facilities/support which is a better package and potiental than most schools can provide.

Quote:If the ECU administration thinks UTEP is such hot commodity they should schedule them every year

If the AAC wants to build the best conference sure. I'm fine going there. People act like a 5 hour flight 1 time ever other year in most sports is the end of the world. If you are in the MWC that's just life. We have to get on a plane to go evey where else in this conference anyway just like you or get on a crappy bus to Navy for 5 hours. Not much difference.

Quote:---but those in the west division (who would be stuck with them on our schedule every year) will pass on that option. If we are going to play another in state school, we'd much rather play in good recruiting areas of Texas like Dallas, San Antonio, or Austin.

Oh, the horror. Instead of flying to basically anywhere or busing hours to UAB you fly there and it takes what 2 hours. Horror. I have no clue why the hell you would even want a Texas State or UTSA or whoever you want in those areas. That would only undercut your recruiting there as they would then have AAC status and be the home team for those recruits too. It really would be counter productive to recruiting to your logic. Same reason I don't want ODU stuck up our ass in recruiting on the same conf status.

UMass. Flagship school, great academics, and gives UConn and Temple a closer game. UConn and UMass could turn into a nice rivalry, and Temple has history with them on the court.

Yeah but UCONN is pimping to get out so if they leave UMASS is an outlier

Would still give Temple a regional opponent. If UConn leaves the only school close to us is Navy. And where exactly do we see UConn going anytime soon?

ODU.....as long it was certain that they had strong doable plans to upgrade their facilities.

I also like Army football and VCU/WSU olys.

If Georia State were to become a G5 football powerhouse, I'd like them over Ga Southern.

Honorable mentions (some need improvements first)...
Rice
UTSA
Southern Miss
UTEP
UMASS
Marshall

Its 5 hours between Philly and Amherst on a good day with light traffic. Its 6.5 to ECU and 3 to Navy.
