Hahaha...my Dad's half-sister got a BA from Grand Canyon U and a Masters Degree from a small art school in Louisville. It was an on line thing. She and her 4 kids are on wellfare. Food, Section 8 housing, free healthcare (free rx drugs) pell grants for her fake masters degree...all paid for by you and me, the American tax payer. It's what we fight for. (Welfare, not freedom). I wish I was making this story up.
Cheers!

UTRGV should definitely study football. So should UTA.

Their football stadium would double as an ideal bowl site as well being just outside Myrtle Beach.
Coastal Carolina is now in the Sun Belt.

West Florida would be a great addition to the Sun Belt. That would put the conference back into Florida.15,000 seat stadium which they are building brand new, and could add more seating in the future. They are a top candidate to be a D1 program from D2.

South Alabama and Troy would find W Florida highly objectionable. North Florida or FGCU would have a more open pathway if they started football.

If they want to get back into Florida? West Florida could be the place to be. It is a Navy town, and you could get Navy to come and play there. Even if Troy and South Alabama could used it as a neutral site to play Navy.

This isn't DII, where conferences have schools in cities closely bunched. Mobile and Pensacola share the same media market, so USA would be staunchly opposed. Troy had major problems getting into the Sun Belt, even though it already had FBS and didn't share media markets.

Pensacola doesn't really get you back into Fla.
It is the same media market as Mobile, so by that token the Sun Belt is already IN Florida.
Nashville is as close to Pensacola as Orlando or Tampa are.
Louisville is closer to Pensacola than Miami is

I'm very curious to know where you got the information on the 15,000 seat football stadium because any references to that are 6-7yrs old, even before the university decided to sponsor football. Since that period of time, UWF has entered into a mutually beneficial agreement w/ the owners of the local minor league baseball franchise to use their stadium for the foreseeable future. It's a beautiful venue and the perfect size for a D2 program, so I don't see them building anything for a long, long time; if ever.

The stadium seat 5038 for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, a AA team of the Reds.
Can forsee the Belt being open to UWF, when USA gets bid from CUSA. A stadium would have to be built too.

An article out of the town said they broke ground on building the 15,000 seat stadium. It should be open next year, but would be delayed a couple of years. The master plan is to build an on campus stadium.

Can't find the news article that said it. They wanted to build in stages to reach that mark. As it is, the baseball stadium might not be able to hold the crowd. Seems that they may need more than 2000 seats added to the ballpark for the demand for the home games there.

Is Troy considered part of the Dothan/Panama City market, or is it in the Montgomery DMA?
The ship has sailed on Navy - they effectively have 11 conference games - Notre Dame, Army, Air Force, and 8 opponents from the American. It will be a very long time before they play USA or Troy again. Navy would be smart to use that last game to play a western opponent since the coast-to-coast Big East fell apart.

David, I read the link you provided to support your claim of a 15,000 seat football stadium being built by the University of West Florida. The article talked about a new practice field being built, that's it. There was a water color picture that someone made, and said "wouldn't it be neat if University of West Florida had a stadium like this built one day." Where in the linked article does it say that they are actually building a 15,000 seat stadium? They have no plans to even build a stadium at all, let alone one with a capacity of 15,000. Hopes and dreams for them, and make believe for you.
Cheers!

It was in a news article that is not online now that mentioned the 15,000 seat stadium before they announced that they added football. It was a goal for them if they went to D1 at or around the time North Alabama said that they went to go to D1. I am still trying to find the news articles. They do want a football stadium, but they hit a snag.
