Exactly. Mixing two subjects as if one impacts the other.

Cause when you put the SEC and basketball in a thread, it's going to die out pretty quickly.

Football is the King in the SEC.

It's kinda like 'name that tune'.

But regardless of the topic, somehow the tune is always the same.....

It's the forever fugue---fatiguing to most, but fresh as a baby's butt to those who keep singing it.

So with that in mind, how is it possible that some of those schools still run an athletic department deficit? It just doesn't seem possible.

Have you seen the facilities of Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, A&M, Georgia, and Arkansas. It's an arms race for the best.

31 million seems like a lot to us...but it isn't...at least in that scheme of things. All costs escalate up there at the top.

It's easy to lose money, no matter how much there is. I figure the first idea people have that makes it easy to lost 31 mill, is that that's a lot of money.

Revenue sharing from the AAC's deal with ESPN and CSN was estimated at $2.1 million...the gap between the have and have nots continues to widen.

The $1.9 million loss in basketball was a sports writer's amount after deducting the seat donation contribution. That's creative math.

The goal here is long term and eventually get us into a Power 5 conference and nothing to do with replacing a basketball coach.

I agree. The gap has always been there, but the size of the television deals with conferences especially those who have their own network has exacerbated the divide in a significant way. Football has been and will continue to be the cash cow for universities. I love Tiger hoops as much as the next person and desire for its continued success, but Tiger football needs to be the main focus as this is the key to entrance in my view. That and a perception of commitment to academics, which seems to be an arbitrary yet feel good element of the criteria for candidates considered by school presidents who like to feign interest in academic excellence as opposed to simply wanting to make a ton of money on the backs of student athletes.

I think we are in the best position we have ever been in to be a candidate for inclusion. I just hope we aren't too late. Fingers crossed for sure.

Go Tigers Go!!!

If they pull the trigger and add 2 teams, it seems that we have accomplished all that is needed as far as getting into the Big 12 goes.
